Chapter Sixty Six: Fond Memories

"I'll take good care of you. For now I need to take you somewhere no one will take you."

Angelina teleported them to the emerald palace's animal zoo. There were swans, zebra's, horses, hippos, wolves, ducks, peacocks, dogs, giraffes and such. They were rescue animals that escaped from their own zoo so the trio asked Claude to build one for the ones that they'd find.

Angelina went back to her 'office' room and dropped herself on her big couch. today was exhausting, she used to much mana and prana. Practically drained herself.

"I'm so tired... ." Angelina mumbled.

All she wanted to do was sleep. Recharge from all the mana she used and all the adventure she's been through. Although she would like to search where her two idiot brother and sister were, she needed energy. With a final thought, she closed her eyes and shut off her mind.

Claude made the final order to find Athanasia and Arthur with proper search party. For some reason, He walked inside the emerald palace. Searching for Angelina. Unlike Arthur and Athanasia, she doesn't make him have a heavy headache. But also not like Jennette that makes his headache go away. Angelina simply makes him calm, however, the headache is still there but very faint.

As he searched around he came across Lily peeking through a room and ordering a few maids to being blankets.

"Lillian York." Claude called out. Lily flinched and turned. Bowing to him.

"Your majesty." She greeted.

"Where is she?"

Lily somehow knew who she meant. She placed her fingers n her lips and pointed in the room. Quietly, he looked inside and paused.

Angelina was on a couch, her hair all over the pillow she was hugging. Her face squished to the pillow. Her lips parted, breathing soulfully. Her dress crumbled, her legs angling on the end of the couch. Claude simply stared at her peaceful face but frowned when he noticed how pale she was. Her expression was peaceful but tired.

"Didn't she have enough sleep?" Claude asked.

"I've been told she performed a difficult spell and it used too much of her mana." Lily explained, in a quiet voice.

Claude hummed. He walked inside and looked down on the child that he had no memories of. However the only memory he has was off a tiny baby, not crying but simply staring at him.

Jeweled eyes clashing to each other. Whilst the other two babies in normal baby sizes were crying. He was told the third one could not make through birth because of Diana's body. She would've been gone after Arthur but pushed all she left in her life and Angelina made it through. Angelina could have born dead but what a miracle it was.

His hand moved on its own and brushed her hair of her cheek. With that the littlest princess moved and lazily peeked an eye half open. Claude froze. Not knowing what to say to explain what he was doing. However, Angelina's imply smile gently and said in a tired tone.

"Hi, papa... sorry I'm a bit tired right now ... (yawns) you should take a nap too. They're nice... ." With hat she went back and drifted to sleep.

Claude, unknowingly smiled. His other consciousness telling him to place her to bed, as if he had done that before. His own body moved and carefully tucked his arms under Angelina's back and knees. Lifting her up with ease. He walked out and Lily showed him where her room was.

The littlest princess moved around in his arms until she found a good positions and snuggled to Claude's shoulder. Lily opened the doors and Claude entered the room he thought he never was in.

Memories flashed in his mind.

A little girl playing tea party with him while a little boy played as the butler, an annoyed expression plastered on his face.

A young girl reading a book on her bed, her legs up in the air as she read with a smile on her face. her eyes Locked to his and she beamed. Asking him to join in her book club.

A girl twirling around in a new dress Claude ordered. Another girl and boy each beside her. The trio were matching and all smiled at him.

Lily had made her bed and Claude placed her in the bed. With a swift of the hand, her dress faded into pajamas. Lily left, leaving the two alone. As if he needed to, he tucked Angelina in the bed. Her face forming a small smile.

Looking around he noticed a cabinet, half of him basically. Doodles and drawings on it. It could pass as a normal cabinet but another memory flashed in his mind and he stood up, walking towards. He knelt down and opened it and it inside was a few books in it. However he closed it again, his hand lit up in mana and the cabinet magically turned into a full door. He stood up and went inside.

The door led to a great Lia ray. One you would see in a book.

(Remember the Disney movie 'beauty and the beast'? The library Bella was gifted by the beast? Imagine that one. it's my dream to have one- when I get enough money too 😀)

A memory flashed again.

A ribbon was on Angelina's eyes, enabling her from seeing anything. Claude opened her eyes. her two siblings behind her, smiling wickedly. Claude showed her the cbainet and what it could do. Angelina went inside and screamed in joy.

Running around the library, her face had full and wide grin. Dancing around she tackled Claude to a hard hug and jumped in his arms. Thanking him repeatedly before disappearing to the library.

"THIS IS THE BEST DAY EVER! AAAAHHHHHH!"

He smiled.

Claude shook his head. Rubbing his neck he left the room but first he closed the curtains, then left.
