Chapter Ninety-Eight: He Cares

Arthur and Cale were laying down the grass and stared at the sky. Both boys were lazy and loved being slackers cause why not.

"Your highness?" Cale called out.

Arthur didn't answer him.

"Jeez- Arthur?"

"Yeah?"

"You do know I could get in trouble by being this informal."

"It's not like my dad will have your head for that, Cale. Relax no one will do anything to you as long as I'm here."

"Right." Claude chuckled.

The cool breeze was refreshing, their hair ruffled with the wind. Taking deep longs breathes when Cale said-

"I've been thinking."

"That's worrisome." Arthur grinned.

"Shut up. How about when your uncle issue gets solved. Me you and the boys go for an adventure?"

"Oh? I'm listening." Arthur rolled over to his stomach and looked at Cale.

"Where to?"

"Anywhere. You never really left Obelia have you?"

"I've been to Callisto's and my aunt Cayena's kingdoms."

"Did you explore it?"

"Callisto's kind of. However I stopped because I had made a friend there ... ." Arthur paused.

The memory of a girl with magenta hair and turquoise eyes who made a pinky promise to him.

He still had the stone that she made for him.

"A friend? Was is that girl who you said she was a beggar? Her name was penny right?"

"Penelope but Penny for short. I lost contact of her when I went to visit her. She just ... disappeared I guess."

"Do you miss her?"

"Yea ... I didn't know her for long but somewhere in my mind I though I knew her ... ." Arthur rolled back.

"I ... see. Did you try to find her?"

"I did but even the people in her area were confused. One day she was there, the other gone. One person had said that a man took her."

Cale's eyes widened.

"By 'took her' .... Not kidnapping right?"

"He said that he offered something to Penny and she went with him. I pray to god she wasn't kidnapped or got trafficked." Arthur groaned. His hands on his face.

"... by any chance. Did you like her?"

Arthur moved his fingers so his eyes were visible to meet Cale's.

"... like a crush?"

"Yes."

Arthur placed his hands behind his head.

"... I don't know. I liked how fun and carefree she was. She was really pretty. I didn't spend that much time with her but I enjoyed every minute I was with her. I ... maybe I would've liked her if we had a chance to get to know each other better."

"You were like kids right?"

"Yea, back then I wasn't thinking about crushes and such. I just liked spending time it's her. Anything we did was fun."

"Hmm." Cale nodded.

The two were great friends that they could tell each other anything.

"... should we head inside?"
