Chapter 25: walking, talking bed

To be honest, I was glad that Todoroki didn't make a big deal out of it. The way we were acting made it seem like we were together already, this was just signing the metaphorical contract. I think if he'd freaked out, I'd probably start to as well, so this was probably the best overall outcome. Him, half asleep on my shoulder, and my head sandwiching his.

Every now and then I'd turn and kiss the side of his head, just showing him as much affection as I possibly could, before he finally moved to get up. "I think we should probably get out of here. It's Saturday, and getting late, so the weirdos will be out soon."

He made a good point, and so I stood up and offered him my hand once again, which he gratefully grasped, and we set off walking, this time to...well I guess it was still my apartment, but not for long. He seemed excited to meet the pets, which gave me enough reason to be excited to see his adorable reactions when he did.

As I unlocked the doors, Wilson's usually volley of barks came echoing through the door, and Todoroki looked a little alarmed, before I reminded him that "he's only a Shih Tzu, and the worst he could do is lick you to death."

"Yeah, of course."

As I poked the door, Wilson gave me a little greeting as usual, but as soon as he saw Todoroki, he went absolutely crazy, darting around the apartment and leaping at Todoroki's kneecaps. My BOYFRIEND (!!!) then knelt down and rubbed behind his ear, to which Wilson flopped onto the floor and rolled around, before getting a nice belly rub. I chuckled, as he reminded me of Todoroki when I mess with his cheeks.

Once the dog had calmed down, I gave him a full tour, and it wasn't until I got to the bedroom that we found the cats. They had all gone to bed early, which was strange, but awoke as I opened the door.

"These must be King, Lord, Mika and Joji, right? They're all so cute!!"

"Yeah, cute for a little bit, menaces the rest of the time. Although, you seem to have a way with cats, maybe your presence will calm them."

"Maybe so, time will tell. Do they always sleep in here?

"Yeah, but not normally this early, I wonder if something is up...

"There could be a storm coming. Cats tend to try and sleep before storms because they know they won't be able to during them."

"You know a lot about cats, don't you?"

"Yeah, my sister has a bunch, so I learned it from her."

"I never knew you had a sister!"

"Did I not mention? I have an older brother too. My sister Fuyumi is an elementary school teacher, and my brother Natsuo is at college in Kyoto."

"Damn, I always wanted a younger sibling, even just to annoy."

"Trust me, they suck. Well, older ones do, anyway. You always end up with what they had, which leaves them all bitter and hollow. Fuyumi is nice, but Natsuo and I get on less. He's still my brother, though, so I don't *hate* him, but we never quite saw eye to eye. I think that's probably because of our father, to be honest."

"Right.." I said, not wanting to force him to talk about that. "Well, shall we find a movie we can watch? If there's gonna be a storm, there ain't no way in hell I'm letting you walk home."

"But-"

"No buts, you're staying, at least until I'm sure it's safe enough."

"God, I got a bodyguard as well as a boyfriend~"

"You complaining? If you get a cold, I won't see you until you're well again, and I couldn't bear that. You stay."

"Fine. I was gonna stay a little anyways~" he said, before slumping on to the couch next to me, once again cuddling right up immediately. I already knew what I wanted to watch, and as soon as I found it, I looked down at my gorgeous boyfriend, and said "can we?" with adoring eyes. He sighed, then said "yes, of course we can", and I smiled, kissing the top of his head and saying "you're the best, thank you" before putting escape room on. I quickly readjusted my position so I was lying flat on my back, and Todoroki clambered onto me so his head lay facing the tv on my chest, which was just so crazy to imagine that I almost pinched myself.

Neither of us were hungry, so we just relaxed and silently watched the movie, Todoroki poking holes in how stupid some of the characters were in the rooms, and when the movie ended, he said "oh god no, a cliffhanger ending...that means-"

"A SEQUEL!!" I realised, and I got so excited that I started smothering Todoroki's head with kisses, and it was only his laughter that made me stop, and I looked up at him as he propped himself to get off me, before I leant up, giving him the daily forehead kiss.

But he surprised me with his next move. He leant down himself, before giving me a kiss on the cheek. He quickly went back to his cuddled position on my chest, before quietly saying "you earned it" and snuggling back down to rest. I lay there, smiling like an idiot, before also resting for a short while.

I awoke groggily, around 11pm on the Saturday night, meaning I'd only slept for about 2 hours or so, but quickly realised that Todoroki wasn't there. Panicking, I looked out the window. Fortunately, there was no stormy weather, so wherever he'd gone, he'd gotten there safely.

It was then that I realised that he hadn't gone anywhere, and was actually stood on the other side of the room, trying to quietly sneak up behind me to scare me. I decided to play along, letting out a little shriek, before he descended into a massive fit of laughter. Anything to make him happy.

"What are you doing up, you worried me..."

"I'm sorry, it's just that we forgot something."

"Hm? What did we forget?"

"This." he said, before holding a....sardine in his hand, waving it around.

"Oh god no! Who is eating it then?"

"I was thinking we just share it, that's the fairest way"

"Yeah, fair enough, there's knives in the to-"

I cut myself off when I looked at him. He had the sardine's tail in his mouth, and was gesturing for me to get the head in mine. I rolled my eyes, before following suit.

"Hohay, hee, hoo, hon, ho!" he sort of counted us down, and I took a bite out of the sardine. For just half a second, our lips met as we bit, but it was so much a graze that neither of us considered it a kiss, nor reacted as such. We were too busy being disgusted by the sardine.

"Oh my god that is horrible! Bakugo, why did you suggest this!"

"Hah? This was your idea!"

"Oh yeah. Oops?"

"Ugh, that is so horrible!" I poured us both a glass of water, and we sat in silence as we washed the taste out of our mouths. Todoroki eventually broke said silence, saying "well, it's done now?"

"Yeah, I guess you're right."

"And at least the taste is gone" he said, walking over to me, and pulling me to my feet.

"What're you-" I managed to get out before he pushed me back onto the couch, and reassumed his napping position on top of me.

"And who said you could do that?!"

"Me"

"Yeah, well they were wrong!" I said, picking him up off me and trying to muscle him over my shoulder, but his height advantage made this impossible, and I eventually conceded to my new role as Todoroki's bed.

News!

There's going to be the occasional 3rd update in a day! If I finish update 2 quickly enough, I'll write a third chapter, then leave it overnight while I sleep, and upload it as soon as I wake up.

This was the culmination of the date, with Bakugo coming to terms with the fact that he now has an actual boyfriend! Also, sardines x Lady and the Tramp? Yes please !!
