When Dreams Become Reality

Part 39

"Lily look at all the gorgeous animals." Patrick says from his seat in the driver's seat.

"She doesn't even know what is going on. She probably doesn't even know what an animal is."

"Nah she is a smart baby aren't you Lilybug." Patrick says with a baby voice.

We are driving around the wildlife reserve of Custer State Park. There are so many buffalo, donkeys, prarie dogs, and many others. It is a beautiful day out. The sun is shining and the birds are chriping. It is almost like Kaylee is looking down at us from heaven and giving us the new day to move on.

"She is so beautiful. She is definantly going to be a heartbreaker." Says my mom. My mom and I are sitting in the backseat with Lily inbetween us.

"Yeah just like her daddy."

"Do you two want us to watch her tonight and you two can have some time to yourselves? I am sure you could both use some time for each other."

"I think that is a great idea. Sam?" Says Patrick.

"Yeah, but I don't know what we could do around here."

"Don't worry I'll find something for us to do."

"Do you guys want to go to Wind Cave?" My dad asks.

"Sure as long as Lily is ok."

We head to Wind Cave. I have been here twice before, but I only remember the last time I was here during the summer before my sophomore year. It is a really neat cave and one that my mom can actually go into without getting claustrophobic. Going into the cave it is so cool but it balances with the temperature of the outside. I could seriously live in this place. Lily is in her grandpa's arms as we walk through the cave.

"Babe this is serously so neat." Says Patrick.

"It is. I love caves. Who knew things could be formed like this."

"Yeah. I was thinking we could go see the lighting of Mount Rushmore tonight and then doing something else."

"Sounds good. So we wont have to get all dressed up for a fancy restuarant?"

"No this is a time to rest and relax so we are going casual."

"I love this rest and relaxing vacation. I almost don't want to go back to California but we have to."

"Don't think about going back home. We are going to enjoy this time."

"Yeah I just wish my parents could stay longer. I want them to spend time with Lily. Well we can leave Lily with them whenever you want when they are here and we can adventure out."

"No we are going to stop here to let you guys take some pictures and look around. If you guys have questions about different things in the cave just ask." Says our tour guide.

We are with a group of people. Many of which are older people.

"Do you want a picture of the three of you?" Asks my mom.

"Yeah." We both say as my dad hands me Lily and we stand over by a formation in the cave for a picture. We take some more pictures of just me and Patrick, my parents with Lily and I, and even a whole picture of all of us that another lady happily took for us. Luckily so far on this trip no one has asked Patrick for a picture or autograph. It is kind of nice and weird at the same time.

We are driving to the lighting of Mount Rushmore. Every night they do a show to turn on the lights for everyone to see them at night. We brought a blanket and we sit towards the top so that we can have a good view of the lights being turned on.

"This is nice. Being cuddled up under a blanket sharing popcorn and a bottle of water spending time with my beautiful wife. I have missed this."

"Me too. It has been a very tough month. It is nice just getting away from it all."

"Mhm but Kaylee will always be with us without phsically being with us. You know that right?"

"Of course I do it is what being Catholic is and believing in God."

"I know I'm using what I learned in my RCIA classes and I am studying really hard so that I can pass this test so I can become a catholic like my wife and daughter."

"You know you can always ask me to help you study. I want you to become a catholic ever since that day you told me you wanted to join the church I was so happy I feel in love with you all over again."

"I fall in love with you everyday that I spend with you. You amaze me. I love you."

"I love you too."
