The next morning we are up bright and early because the race starts at 8. Amanda made us a healthy breakfast more for Patrick who would be racing. I was in our room putting on my shoes when Patrick comes walking in.
"Hey babe almost ready to go?" Patrick says.
"Yep I'm all ready, but the question is are you ready for a long race."
"I think so I have done it before and tend to stop for pictures and autographs."
"Well just make sure you stay hydrated we don't want to take a trip to the hospital."
"Don't worry I won't like I said it isn't my first rodeo." he says laughing and wrapping his arms around my waist.
"Ok just wanted you to make sure you do and I like the bike outfit you should wear it more often."
"Like what you see." with a smirk on his face.
"Maybe." I say laughing and giving him a kiss.
-------------
The race is almost over and boy has it been a long day. Many fans have come up to me for pictures which was weird because I'm not famous. Now I was at the finish line ready to welcome in the riders. I have my phone ready because I promised Patrick I would take a picture of him coming in. The crowd is now cheering as the group of riders come in. I spot Patrick and take a picture. He sees me and then stops in front of me and gives me a kiss.
Now that he is done he has one more press interview to announce how much money was raised. I was so proud of him as I'm standing off stage. He was so wonderful to all the fans and riders. He raised money for his charity that he started for his mom and rode his bike all day which honestly I could never do.
"It is my pleasure to welcome my mom Amanda to the stage to help me unveil the amount that we raised." Patrick says as Amanda walks up on stage.
"I need some help from all of you. So lets count down from 3. 3...2...1!" Patrick and Amanda remove the curtain to reveal a check for $25,650. "Now I'm going to double that totally and make it $51,300! I would like to thank everyone for donating and coming out to support the Dempsey Center. See you all next year."
-------------
We are now at Amanda's house saying goodbye because we both had to work the next day.
"Bye Amanda it was so nice to meet you." I say giving her a hug.
"You too dear if you ever need someone to talk to don't be afraid to call and watch out for Patrick don't let him slip away from you." she says then walks over to say goodbye to Patrick.
"Bye mom I will call you when we land."
"You better and don't let her slip away you need her and she needs you." Patrick and I then head out to our rental car driving to the airport.
On our way to the airport Patrick takes my hand and says, "Mom really liked you and I'm so glad you guys got close on this trip."
"I'm glad that she likes me and I really enjoyed talking to her."
"I'm glad. I was thinking of buying a house here in the future since I come up here so often and I would like to one day live here after I'm done acting."
"That would be amazing. It is so beautiful here no wonder you would want to live here permanently."
"I was thinking maybe we could buy it together. Now I know that you aren't comfortable moving in together yet, but I want to have a future with you and I wanted to give you something." He then pulls out a little black velvet box. "Now this isn't an engagement ring it is a promise ring. I know it is high schoolish, but I want to promise you one day we will have a future together."
I look down at the ring it is gorgeous but simple. "Yes of course I want a future with you someday." I say as we pull up to the airport and seal the deal with a kiss.
