"Hey do you need any help packing Lily's things I am all set?" Says Patrick walking into the nursery.
"Yeah could you get her suitcase from downstairs it is in the living room."
"Yeah I'll be right back." He says giving me a quick kiss before leaving.
It has been a very tough two weeks. I don't know what I would do without him. Never in a million years would I think we would experience this sort of thing. No parent wants to go through this and it unfortunately happened to us. It is weird not having Kaylee here. I'm always used to having two babies to feed. Even though it was only two weeks since she was born when she died, but I was so used to two babies. I haven't let Lily out of my sight. If somebody else wants to hold her I am always right there. I don't want to loose another baby.
"Here you go babe." Says Patrick walking in with the suitcase.
"Thanks." I barely whisper.
"Hey what's wrong?" He says putting his arms around my waist from behind.
"Just thinking about Kaylee. We should have two babies to pack for, but we only have one and we only had her for two weeks and then we lost her."
"I know I think about her all the time. I always loved holding two little babies in my arms and she was the perfect mixture of the both of us, but we still have Lily and each other and we will get through this and have many more babies."
"You and Lily are the ones keeping me going and I don't know what I would do without you."
"We need each other and I am here for you every step of our lives. I love you."
"I love you too." I turn around in his arms and kiss him.
------------
We were about half way to South Dakota. We were going to see the black hills, caves, and all the other amazing sites. South Dakota is so beautiful. When I was here when I was younger and I always thought I would live here. It was always beautiful, but if I moved here I wouldn't have met my perfect husband. I knew this would be the perfect place to go to get away. My family was even driving up from Nebraska to meet us there and have a little family vacation together.
"Babe do you need to use the restroom there is a rest stop up ahead?"
"Yeah and I could feed Lily too."
We pull over at the rest stop. I hope into the back seat to feed Lily and Patrick heads to the bathroom.
"Hey Lilybug you want to eat?" I lift up my shirt and she latches on. I cover her with her blanket and wait for Patrick to return.
"Hey is she eating?"
"Yeah. She must be hungry because she is going to town."
"Who wouldn't your breasts are magical." He says with a smirk.
"Oh god seriously." I reply laughing.
"I can't help that my wife is gorgeous."
"Two more weeks buddy." I say as Lily unlatches.
"I know. I'll change and burp her while you go to the bathroom."
"Ok I'll be right back."
When I return Patrick is just finishing putting on Lily's diaper.
"I'll ride in the back for a little while until she falls asleep then I'll hop up front."
"Ok let's get back on the road then."

We are finally at our hotel in South Dakota. It is a beautiful hotel around so many trees. We can see the faces from our room. We are on the top floor in a two bedroom suit.
"My mom just texted me saying that they should be here around 6. Then we can go somewhere for dinner."
"Ok. Well we have a few hours do you want to go into town and see what is there?"
"Yeah let's go."
We get back into our car and drive into town. Patrick parks at the end of the shops. He pulls the new stroller out of the backseat that holds one carseat instead of two. It is a beautiful day. We walk along the different shops and hold hands.
"You have a beautiful family." Says a little old lady as we walk by her.
"Thank you so much." We say as we walk away.
"I'm surprise she didn't notice who you are."
"Yeah or she was just being nice and treating us like normal people."
"I love getting out of LA. No paparrazi or crazy busy life."
"Yeah that is what I miss about Maine. The beauty of the trees and the lake by my mom's house and the overall peacefulness. That is why when i was looking for that perfect piece of land to build our house on I knew that it needed to be somewhat peaceful and with a view, but I don't want to live there for the rest of my life."
"Neither do I. We will find the perfect place to live and live there for the rest of our lives."
"Oh look an antique store. Want to go in?"
"Yeah. I didn't know you were into antiquing."
"Yeah my dad had his own shop when I was younger and I loved seeing all the cool things in his shop."
"The many things I learn about you and keep making me fall even more in love with you everyday."
We walk around the store looking at the many different things that they have.
"Wow this store has so many amazing things."
"It does. We should come back here before we leave and really look around, but we should get back to the room so that you can feed Lily and get ready for dinner with your parents."
"Yeah."
As we walk back to the car I start to think about the last time we had a date night. And it has been quite awhile since we have.
"We should go on a date night when we are here. We can leave Lily with my parents and have some you and me time."
"Yeah I would love that, but are you going to be ok with leaving Lily?"
"Honestly I don't know. I know she will be with my parents, but I have never left her."
"It will be ok and she will be in good hands."
"That is what makes it all better."
We get back to the hotel room and get ready for dinner. My parents arrive and we head down to the hotel restuarant and eat. We all had a long day or two of driving so we all are asleep by 10. This is just the first day of this vacation to heal the wounds inside of us from losing our daughter.
