Christmas time is a time for family. It has been years since I have celebrated Christmas with my family and now I also have a wonderful man by my side. We moved into our house two weeks ago. Both of our families are here to celebrate Christmas together.

I wake up in the arms of the one I love and I'm so happy to have him here with me. I look out the window and get sad. I miss waking up on Christmas morning and seeing the fresh snowfall. I really hold that deep in my heart as a wonderful memory of my childhood on Christmas morning. I then realize my future children will not be able to experience it.

"Penny for thoughts." a husky voice says into my ear.

"I'm just thinking of how sad it is that our future children won't get to see the fresh snowfall on Christmas morning like I did."

"Well we don't always have to live in California. We could move to Maine or Nebraska or even both."

"Both?"

"Yeah we could buy a house in both Maine and Nebraska. We have the money to do it. Heck we could even keep this house. Our children can have those Christmas memories too we can make it happen."

"Really?"

"Yes I want our kids to enjoy stuff that we enjoyed. I want us to be forever and in order for that to happen we need to be there for one another and we work to make sure the other is happy."

"You do make me happy everyday and I'm so glad I not only get to share this Christmas with both of our families, I also get to share it with you and I can't wait to share even more with you."

"I love you."

"I love you too so much." Then I give him a kiss before heading downstairs to celebrate our first Christmas together.

------------

Today has been a world wind. I realized how great it is to have someone by your side who loves and cares for you.

Patrick was so happy today. I mean yes we were talking about kids and the future this morning, but spending this family filled day with him and our families.

We just dropped off our families at the airport and are driving back to our house.

"Babe I need to get something at my old house do you mind if we stop there?" he asks grabbing my hand.

"Nope. How is selling your house going?"

"I didn't think it would take this long, but Rick told me there was a lot of really interested people so we will see."

He still had his house and still had some of his things there that we haven't moved yet. My house sold two days after being put on the market which was a total surprise so we had to live at his house since our house wasn't fully finished yet. We actually only moved in a week ago so we are still getting things settled.

We arrive at his old house. We get out of the car and walk up to the front door hand in hand. He unlocks the door and there is a present sitting on the table by the door. He grabs it and turns to me.

"I wanted to give you this when it was just the two of us. I was going to do it this morning in bed but I realized I left it here." he says handing me the present.

"Patrick you already gave me so much I don't need anything more."

"Well it is for both of us to enjoy so just open it."

I open it and pull out two plane tickets to Hawaii. I then notice there is something else and pull out two tickets to see Meghan Trainor in concert.

"Patrick seriously this is way to much."

"Like I said we can both enjoy this. We need a relaxing vacation and just get away from here just the two of us. So we see Meghan Trainor tomorrow night and we fly out in the afternoon the following day to go to Hawaii."

"I guess we could use a relaxing vacation we need it especially after these last few months."

"I love you."

"I love you too and Merry Christmas!"
