When Dreams Become Reality

Part 23

It has been one month since we have been married. With Patrick's crazy work schedule though it has been hard to enjoy it. After the quick honeymoon we had to take because he had to get back to filming and racing we haven't gotten to spend a lot of time together. Now that we are married it seems like we are spending less and less time together. I work my normal 9-6 job while Patrick's schedule is very unpredictable. A lot of the time he gets home at midnight or stays at his trailer. When he does stay at home he is usually out the door by 6 before I get up. I never see my husband anymore and I wish I did. I knew what I was signing up for, but I didn't think it would be everyday. We havent even been intimate since returning from our honeymoon.

Today though is a day I need my husband the most. He didn't come home again last night and I was up throwing up all night. It would have been nice to have him there to hold my hair back but he wasn't. This morning I couldn't keep anything down so I called in sick to work. I'm laying in bad trying to get some sleep but it isn't coming even though I'm tired. When it finally comes though I dream about the perfect life I envisioned with Patrick. I wake up to my phone ringing and I hope it is Patrick, but sadly it is only Jess.

M- hey

J- hey how are you feeling?

M- like crap. I have been throwing up all night I can't keep anything down, I am so tired, and I haven't heard from my husband since yesterday.

J- I'm coming over.

M-okay just come in. I'm upstairs.

"Hey I brought you a few things, but don't freak out it is just a hunch." Says Jess walking into my room.

"What do you mean?"

"Just look in the bag."

I pull out five boxes of pregnancy test I am shocked that I didn't think of this before.

"Do you really think so?"

"Well we can only find out."

I walked into the bathroom and pull out the pregnancy tests. I pee on all of them and walked back into the bedroom and wait five minutes.

"I don't know what to do." I say seeing the results.

"What do you mean?"

"I haven't seen Patrick very much in the last month. We hardly talk anymore and haven't been intimate since the honeymoon. I don't even know if my marriage is going to last. Everyone is going to laugh at me for only being married a month to him."

"Don't say that. You knew that his schedule is so busy and things had to change from what they were. you both need to talk to each other and figure something out. You need to tell him. He will be so happy and I'm sure he will figure something out to be here for you more."

"But that's the thing. I don't want him to change things because there is a baby in the picture. he should want to stay with me for me."

"Will talk to him. Don't mention the baby at first and see if things will change for you and then tell him about the baby."

"You're right."

"Always am."

I was in my office typing some notes for Jess since I was finally feeling better after she got me so graham crackers and ginger ale. It was around 8pm when I heard to front door open.

"Babe?" The sound of my husband's voice rings through the house.

"In here."

"Hey I got done filming early so I thought that we could do something. Why are you typing notes for Jess shouldn't this been done already at work?"

"Well that's thing I didn't go to work today because I have been throwing up since last night, but you wouldn't know that since you didn't even come home last night and didn't bother picking up the damn phone." I say with my voice booming through the house."

"Babe I'm sorry."

"You're sorry! Is that all you have to say for yourself? I haven't seen my husband in over a month and I miss him dearly and alls you have to say for yourself is that you are sorry!"

'Damn these pregnancy hormones.' I say to myself.

"You're pregnant?"

"What?"

"You just said damn these pregnancy hormones. You're pregnant?"

"Yes there I said happy now?!?!"

"Sam we are having a baby?" He says with a smile on his face totally not listening to a word I was saying.

"Yes and I don't know if you will be in its life because you are never here. It is like we got married but it feels like we didn't. It is like we are living two separate lived but living in the same house. You don't even know how much I miss you. I would have loved for my husband to be there holding my hair back as I was throwing up and going to the drug store and getting me pregnancy tests but instead it was Jess."

"You didn't even say anything how was I supposed to know."

"Because you never answer your damn phone or take the time to call me. I'm surprised that I even get a text from you saying you won't be home, but that is all I get."

"Do you not get how busy I am. I'm trying my hardest to balance everything out."

"Well you aren't trying hard enough." I say getting up and walking into our bedroom.

He follows me and watches me gather up a bag of clothes for myself.

"What are you doing?"

"Leaving. I need to get away from this town. I wish I never moved here because then I wouldn't have met you and my life would be a living hell right now."

"Well where are you going?"

"I don't even know but it isn't like I'm going to tell you." I say grabbing my bag and phone from the bed and walking downstairs grabbing my keys and walking out the door.

Patrick doesn't even follow me. I hate having to do this to him but I really need to show him what I mean by how I feel....

A/N Ok I'm so so so sorry but this needed to happen but I will fix it I promise. I know this is short again, but It will be getting longer hopefully once break starts in two weeks. Their life can't be all sunshine and rainbows. I don't know when I will update the next chapter because I have two big papers due Monday and Tuesday of next week and then finals next week also, but I might be able to do some tomorrow on the bus ride to see the cadaver lab. As for my other fic I am holding off any updates until break.
