The lights were off. A lady dressed in all black told everyone to go in and stand in a straight line.
"Hey!" I heard a familiar voice come from the darkness behind her.
"Hi!" May said in a chrerful tone. She turned arond to see a dark fihure standing over her. "I can't quite see you, but hi!"
Suddenly the stage lights turn on and everyone falls silent. All of a sudden a ticket booth and two people walked out on stage. One wore a bubble suit and the other a cap that said "Tickets" and a yellow vest. The one in th he bubble suit started to talk, "One ticket to Niagara Falls please!"
"That'll be two hundred dollars please," the ticket seller miseraly said.
The man in the bubble suit vlanked dor a moment, then went on, "Oh, money!" He reached in his pocket and pulled out three quarters and a dollar bill "How far'll this get me?" he held out the money.
"Take a step back," the ticket seller stopped, "that far."
"But I need to get to Niagra Falls so I can stop the girl I love from marrying the wrong guy!"
"Thats great." The ticket seller said in a sarcastically exclaimed.
Then a big cartboard bus came out on stage with eleven different people standing behind it. The people filed out on the stage and stood in place. "Hi!" one of the girls said, "We're the Bright and Shineys and we are here to spread our brightness everywhere!"
"I thought I told you people to stop setting up here." The ticket seller said.
"Well we don't care!" The one guy said, "because we love you!"
"Well I don't love you, so go." The ticket seller said.
"No!" They all cheerfully exclaimed.
"I have a gun!" Ticket seller yelled, angrily.
"Love is stronger than guns!" The boy said.
"Yeah, we'll see about that." The ticket seller said. He slowly walked back over to the ticket booth.
"Hey there, Bubble Boy! What are you here for?"
"I need to get to Niagara Falls so I can stop the girl I love from getting married to the wrong person!" the person in the bubble suit said.
"Thats great! What's your name?" the girl said.
"Jimmy!" the person in the bubble suit said.
"Cool! I'm Lorain and thats Todd! We are happy to help you get to Niagara Falls!"
"Really?" Jimmy asked.
"Yeah!" Lorain said.
Then the lights turned off and the curtains closed. The house lights came back on and they realized they were in the auditorium. Mr. Sleer walked out on stage and started talking, "Weren't they just wonderful? Give 'em a big round of applause!"
Everyone clapped.
"Ok, so that was a scene from the musical, Bubble Boy and now we want you to paint a picture of what you think Bubble Boy will look like when he reaches Niagara Falls!"
May was excited, it seemed like a fun project.
"And... one... two... three... GO!"
