What She Wanted

Chapter 20.

      "And the winner is..."

     Mr. Sleer paused as he reached into the envelop to pull out the winner.

      "Ethan!"

     Ethan won. Of course. Who would have won other than him? His was absolutely incredible! May was a little jealous.

     As his name was said Ethan walked up to the stage and accepted the onehundred dollars, stood for a picture with Mr. Sleer and waved to the camera in the corner.

     "Hey May! Are you glad that I won?" Ethan asked May.

     "Sure," she replied. A single tear rolled down her cheek. She was happy for him but she was upset she didn't win.

      "What's wrong?" Ethan asked. Hus eyes big big and bright.

      "Nothing," May said as she wiped her cheek. "Just a little homesick, I guess."

      "Oh," Ethan said. He hesitated but then spoke again, "Do you wanna maybe come over and watch a movie or something?" He asked.

      "Sure!"

      "Ok, what do you want to watch?" Ethan asked as they walked out the door of the building.

      "I don't know. What do you wanna watch?"

      "Well, I just got Insurgent on DVD, do wanna watch that?"

      "Sounds great!"

     As they approached the hotel, they figured out a time for their 'get together' and went to get ready.

     As May walked in her door, she flicked on the lights and went back to her bedroom. She opened the closet doors and peeked in. She wanted to where something casual and comfortable, yet look pretty and stylish. She decided on a pair of PJ shorts and an under armour shirt. She walked back to the living room, grabbed her phone and room key, and headed out the door.

      "Do you want any popcorn?" Ethan asked from in the kitchen.

      "Yes please!" May replied. She was sitting on the couch waiting for Ethan to come so they could watch Insurgent. She loved the Divergent series. She read all the books, "Divergent", "Insurgent", "Alligent", and "Four". She was super excited to see Insurgent.

      "Your popcorn,  my lady." Ethan saod as he placed a large bowl of popcorn on the coffee table.

      "Thanks!" She said.

     She watched as he picked up the remote control and pressed play.

     After the movie ended, they ordered a pizza and talked.

     "You looked so happy up there today. I was glad to see you win, you deserve it." May said.

     "Thanks! I was happy when you won too." Ethan replied.

     As they sat and chatted, they split the whole pizza evenly between themselves. As they talked they relized hpw much they have in common. They shared their deep stuff amd let it all out.

      "You know, Ethan, you are a really good guy. And if Patricia wasn't able to see that, shame on her."

     "You really think so?" Ethan asked.

     "I know so." May replied.

     As she finished that sentence, Ethan leaned in and...

      ...kissed her.
