"May Parks!"
Her heart stopped.
The sweat cleared up.
She almost passed out.
"Come on up here, May!" she heard Mr. Sleer say. She had thought that they didn't like her's. The way they looked at it--kinda of in disgust--made her think they hated it, but boy was she wrong. She won!
She walked up and greeted Mr. Sleer, who looked like Effie Trinket in the Huger Games beckoning Katniss to come up on stage after she volunteered, and looked out at him. He sat on the stool mounted on his stand. His legs hungover the sides of the stand. His hands placed neatly on his lap. He smiled. She smiled back. He gave her another one of his signature thumbs up.
"Congratulations, May! Your painting is absolutely wonderful."
"Thanks."
"Winning tonight has set you at the top of the leader board. You also won fifty dollars. As the challenges grow in number and size, the amount of money you win grows in numbers." Mr. Sleer explained. He handed her fifty dollars. "Spend this as you wish in your free time in the city."

After she was done there, she walked off the stage and over to her stand where he was waiting.
"Congrats!" he smiled.
"Thanks, sorry you didn't win. Yours was really good. At least you get to keep it," May replied."Yeah...so, what cha' gonna spend your 'winnings' on?"
"I don't know. LA is huge! It have the slightest idea of where anything is at."
"Well...you know I come here a lot. I practically live in Los Angeles. I could show you around if you want."
"Sure! That'd be great." May smiled. She was happy. She kind of liked him.
"May! Its time to go!" she heard behind her. She realized it was Mr. Sleer.
"Well, I guess its time for me to go."
"Ok, well here, give me your phone. I'll give you my number and you call me up when you want that tour." he said.
"Thanks," she took back her phone and started walking away. "Oh," she turned around, "I didn't catch your name, mystery man!"
"Ethan. And yours, mystery lady?"
"May. My name is May."
