You felt the gnawing pain deep within your belly. You had been hungry many times in your life, but this was the worst you had ever felt.

It had been 16 days since you last ate. You tried to scavenge scraps from the back of the inn but they shooed you away, as did the bakers and the butchers. You didn't want pity, but at this point you were desperate.

Too weak to work, that's what the blacksmith said before he threw you out. Yeah, too weak because he didn't feed you enough. Rolling your eyes at the memory, you curled up, desperately trying to ignore the pain in your stomach.

You took shelter beneath a large tree, the long limbs protecting your fragile body from the cold snow. The sky was dropping dark, and thanking the Gods for your furs, you began to settle down for the night.

Bolting upright, you gasped and shook as you woke.

Rubbing your eyes, you looked at the person who woke you. A beautiful, red haired young woman. She looked around the same age as you. Preparing to be shouted at, you smiled at her sadly, saying "I'm sorry, I'll leave."

You had attempted to stand, however your head spun from the lack of nourishment. Dark spots clouded your vision, disorientating you and sending you crashing to the frozen ground.

"Are you okay?!" The woman asked, wrapping her arms around your body as she helped you up.

You simply nodded, and began to move away from the tree again. Judging by her accent, she was a Noblewoman. You didn't want to offend or anger her, so thought it best not to speak.

"You don't look okay." She said, bluntly. "Let me get my brother, we'll take you back to your home." She began to shout for her brother, Robb, before you stopped her.

"Please, it's very kind of you but I don't exactly have a home." You huffed, a sad smile on your face yet again.

The redhead's face fell. "Oh, I'm sorry."

A tall man came jogging over, concern upon his face. The woman told him what happened, tactfully mentioning your not having a home.

"Can we bring them back with us, Robb?" She asked, her pale face flushed with emotion.

The man looked at you, glancing up and down your weakened, fragile body. "Of course. I'll get the horses-" he turned and said quietly to his sister "they don't look like they could survive the walk."

Taking your arm in hers, you began to walk to the edge of the grove. "My name is Lady Sansa. What's your name?"

"Y/n. Y/n Stone." You replied.

"You're from the Vale?" She asked. "My aunt Lysa lives there."

You nodded, too tired to formulate a response. Every step was more exhausting than the last and you prayed to all the gods that the horses were close. One foot infront of the other, you tried to focus on something other than the hunger and fatigue and pain you felt.

"Here we are." You heard the man say. You were so dizzy, your vision blurred. You felt your body move as you were lifted up onto a horse. The man sat in front of you and taking the reins, the three of you began the short ride to Winterfell.
