Tony's pov
-Hey Jarvis, could you activate the microphones of the laboratory, I would like to hear if she is going well.- I asked to make sure she was okay.
-Right away Mr. Stark.-
At that moment the hall was filled with a song.
It took me a while to figure out what the song was about.
And when I understood, I felt terribly guilty.
-Tony...are you hearing?- Bruce whispered.
-Yes, Banner. I also have ears.- I said sitting on the sofa -I did a huge bullshit. If she has no friends it's just my fault.- I said passing a hand over my face -What kind of father am I? A horrible father.-
-But you did it for her sake, Tony. I understand you perfectly. If I were you I would have done it too.- Clint said, putting a hand on my shoulder.
-But now I think that Lady y/n is old enough to be able to live her life, or not?- Said the Asgardian god.
-What do you think I should do?- I asked.
-You should...wait, she's talking to Jarvis.- Bruce said.
-Jarvis, how much would the functionality improve if I shrunk this mechanism and moved it a bit, so that we have more space for other gears and mechanisms?- she asked.
-It would improve by 12%, according to my calculations.- said the computer.
-12%? It's a nice step forward.- I said proudly.
-To be her age, yes. Besides, it's a great idea.- Bruce said.
-Ok. I was hoping for something more, but 12% is already something. I have to come up with other ideas to improve it if I want to get to the level of dad.- he heard her say.
-Why at my level? What does she mean?- I asked confused.
-Why do you always compare yourself to your father? You are way ahead of most of your peers.-
-I know I know. I just want to make him proud of me. I know he loves me but he would rather have a son than a daughter. I just want to show him that I can do what he would does.-
-No, no, no. What is she saying?- I said in shock, I didn't believe my ears.
All she was doing was to make me proud of her, but I was already proud and I loved her.
I felt really bad about what I had done.
-Okay, just remember that he loves you, even Mrs. Stark and even me that I have no emotions.-
-I know, Jarvis. Thank you very much.-
-I am officially the worst father of the year. Indeed of the world.- I said throwing my head back.
-You're Tony Stark. Iron Man. Damn. Now think about something.- Clint said.
-You could call Peter Parker, SpiderMan. He is her age or am I wrong?- Bruce asked.
-But...- I tried to protest.
-Nothing but Tony, you have to start making her meet new people. The first people she met were an Asgardian god of a thousand and more years, a Russian spy trained to kill, one who was literally born in 1918 and who was frozen, one who shoots arrows, which is the most normal of all. and I...well I can become big and green.- Bruce said.
-Bruce is right. Meeting someone her age could do her good.- Thor said.
-I'll think about it. Now I'll go to my office and talk to Pepper.- I said getting up from the sofa and leaving the room.
I got on the elevator and went down to the 25th floor.
I went into my room and looked at the photos of that little girl who was now grown up, without my noticing.
I sat down at my desk and called Jarvis.
-Tell me, sir.-
-Do you have a recording, right Jarvis, of what y/n said in the laboratory?- I asked looking at the screen in front of me.
-Affirmative, sir.-
-Perfect, could you video call Pepper and tell her that I need to speak to her urgently and then send it to her?- I asked.
-Of course, Mr. Stark.- A few seconds later he replied.
-Tony, love, hey.- She smiled.
-Hey Pepper. Do I disturb you?- I asked, trying to smile.
-Not at all. Any problem?- She asked me seeing my expression.
-I think I screwed up, look at the recording.-
-Okay?- she gave me a confused look, but she obeyed -Oh no. It is not possible. Why didn't she ever tell me about it?- She said putting a hand in her hair.
-It's my fault that I've been a bad father.-
-It is not only your fault, but mine too. Lately I've really put it on the back burner.-
-The others were advising me to introduce you to Peter. What do you think?- I asked her.
-I think it's a good idea. They have in common that they are good at building things and have good ideas. Yes, I think they would get along.- she said smiling.
-Okay, thanks love. I'm going to call Happy and send him to get the spider boy.-
-You're welcome. I was thinking maybe for her eighteen we could throw a big party and introduce her to the world. If she agrees, of course.-
-In fact, yes, if she agrees, yes.- I nodded.
-But now I have to go. Being CEO of Stark Industries is not easy.- She said.
-I know, that's why I chose you.- I gave her a playful smile.
-Some days I really hate you. Say hello to everyone.-
-I will do it. Bye.- I waved my hand.
-Bye.- she smiled and closed the call.
-Jarvis, call Happy, tell him to go get Peter and bring him here, please.-
-On my way, sir.- then he paused a little -He said they'll be here in ten minutes.-
-Thanks Jarvis.- I smiled to myself, then I left the room -You could tell y/n to be found in the main room in ten minutes because there are two people who want to see her. One that she knows and the other I have present it to her. Tell her to change if she deems it necessary.-
-It will be Mr. Stark.- his voice said as I climbed into the elevator.
