The next morning when I woke up, before the others, and I went to the kitchen where immediately the girls started talking.
-C'mon y/n. We need to go before the others notice it.- they said.
-Give me a minute, I just got up.- I said yawning.
-We don't have time, honey. Move your ass from that chair.- Nat said smiling.
-Alright, I'm gonna dress up, give me five minutes.- I said standing up after having breakfast.
I quickly went to my floor and changed my clothes in a pair of high-waisted jeans and a t-shirt, then I came back to the others.
Mum and Steve were there too so we left the tower.
We went to a few shops, chosen by mum.
After a couple of hours I had brought a short red dress that reached my mid-tight, with a flounced skirt, short sleeves and a bateau neckline, under Steve's advice.
After we had finished shopping we came back to the tower and the day passed pretty normally.
The afternoon arrived and I had a shower, then Wanda and Nat came to me to help with the make up.
Just mascara and eyeliner, nothing too complicated.
Around 7 pm I was ready.
Bucky texted me that we would have met in the main room.
When I walked in everyone was looking at me.
-Is something wr...?- I asked.
-We did a good job, we know.- Wanda and Nat said proudly.
-No, y/n. You just look different. In a good way of course.- Vision said.
-Oh my goodness. y/n in that really you?- Clint asked.
-Lady y/n, you look fascinating.- Thor said bowing down.
-Thank you.- I said blushing a little.
-They're right. You look breathtaking.- Peter said.
-You're beautiful, sweetie.- dad said smiling.
-Thanks. Did you see Bucky?- I asked, and at that moment he stepped in.
He was wearing an all black suit and a red tie.
When he saw me he froze for a moment.
-I told you the red one was a good choice.- Steve smiled nudging his friend.
-You look so beautiful.- he said, smiling, coming to me.
-You're handsome too.- I smiled back at him.
-Okay, we have to go now though.- he said, offering me his arm, which I took.
-For what time will you come back?- dad asked.
-Tony, let them have fun. Just go.- mum smiled.
-I was thinking of sleeping in my old house in Brooklyn, I fixed it so it won't be a problem. There are so many memories there.- Bucky said.
-It's totally fine. We trust you Bucky.- mum smiled -Right, Tony?-
-Yeah...I trust you too.- dad sighed.
-Alright, we'll see you tomorrow then. Bye.- I said waving at everyone.
-I'll take care of her.- he said.
We left the tower and I saw a black car.
Bucky walked me to the passenger seat and opened the car door.
-What a gentleman.- I said sitting down and arranging my dress a little -But you really had to say those words in front of everyone?- I asked.
-They have to know you're mine.- he said smiling innocently.
-They or Peter?- I smiled.
-All of them.- he answered.
-So, where are we going?- I asked looking out of the car window.
-It's a surprise so I can't tell you.- he said, looking at the road -Anyway you are really beautiful. And that dress fits you perfectly.- he said looking at me head to toe.
-Thanks, Steve told me that you would have liked it.- I messed with him.
-Did you ask him to come with you?- he asked -Seriously?-
-Yeah, I couldn't ask you or you wouldn't have been surprised by my dress.-
-I guess you got a point.- he smiled.
-When did you learn to drive?- I asked, looking at him.
-I taught myself and now that I think about it, I taught Steve how to steal a car once. I don't know if he actually tried it.-
-Good.- I said laughing a little -Just good.-
We talked all the way from the tower to the restaurant.
After fifteen minutes he stopped the car in front of a little local in 40s style.
-Here we are.- he said -I hope you like it.-
-Oh my god, Buck.- I smiled -It's amazing.- I said.
I was truly happy but something inside me was worrying me.
I didn't know what it could be.
I had a weird sensation in my belly.
A bad feeling.
But I pushed it away and I decided to enjoy my date with Bucky.
We got out of the car and walked to the restaurant.
It was pretty full of people, you could see it from the windows, and I didn't like it.
I wasn't used to all those unknown people and I was a little scared.
We entered and sat on a table.
All of the eyes were on us.
My breath started to be irregular.
My foot began to hit the floor compulsively, like a nervous tick.
I watched around me and the bad feeling of before had grown inside me.
I tried to regulate my breathing, but it was almost impossible.
My chest was going up and down really fast.
Bucky noticed and took my hands in his.
-Love, are you okay?- he asked worriedly.
-I...I...don't know...- I said sincerely -I feel so overwhelmed right now...all these people here...- I felt my eyes tearing up.
-Okay, love. Let's go out.- he said standing up, dragging me and once we were out he made me sit in the car -Ok now concentrate on my voce and breath.- he said and I nodded -In. Hold. Out. In. Hold. Out. Good. In. Hold. Out. Very good.- he said -Do you feel better?-
-Yeah, thanks. How did you know what to do?- I asked.
-I think that was a panic attack, love. If you don't be comfortable around people we can order takeaway.- he said taking his phone and checking the menu.
-Mhmh.- I nodded sadly -I'm sorry. I didn't want to ruin our date. Our first date.-
-It's okay, doll. You didn't ruin anything.- he smiled -Let's decide what to eat.- he smiled putting his hand on mine.
