When I woke up I quickly got up.
I started getting ready for breakfast when I remembered where I was.
-Morning J.-
-Good morning y/n.-
-Is mum here?- I asked leaving my room.
-No, she left 10 minutes ago. Some problems at work, nothing that Mrs Stark can't handle.-
-Of course she isn't here.- I mumbled to myself.
Sighing, I reached the kitchen and had breakfast.
After I had finished, I went back to my room and I changed my clothes.
"What am I supposed to do here, all alone?" I thought sitting on the bed, watching the void in front of me.
-y/n, you have to tell me when you want to start your lessons again.- Jarvis told me.
-Tomorrow morning, J. I'll start again tomorrow.- I answered laying on my back.
-Alright, I'm am gonna communicate immediately your answer to Mr and Mrs Stark.-
-Yeah J, go ahead.- I said taking one of dad's books and start reading it.
After some time Jarvis got my attention.
-Miss, your father is calling you. Would you like to talk to him?-
-Yes, Jarvis. I would like it.- I smiled, looking at the TV, where dad's face appeared.
-Good morning honey.- dad said.
-Good morning Lady y/n!- Thor shouted in the back.
-Hey kid, morning.- Clint greeted me while drinking some coffee.
-Morning y/n.- Bruce waved shyly.
-Good morning, little Stark.- Steve appeared too, next to Bucky who just waved, eating some plums.
-Hey everyone, good morning. Where is Nat?- I asked not seeing her.
-I'm right here, girl.- Nat shouted, waving.
-Hey Nat, good morning.- I smiled.
-I called you just to check on you. Everything is fine?- dad asked.
-Yeah, everything is ok.- I shrugged.
-Is mum happy to have you back?- he asked.
-Yeah, yesterday we talked a little after that I went to bed. But this morning when I woke up she was already gone.- I answered -I miss having breakfast with you. Here is so quite. I almost miss Thor's thundering voice or Clint's stupid joke.- I giggled.
-We all miss you too.- everyone said.
We talked a little then, unfortunately, they got a call from Fury.
I came back to reading, hoping that the time passed quickly.
Reading, I lost track of time.
-Miss, you skipped your lunch...you should eat something.- Jarvis said.
-Oh...ok, Jarvis...I'm gonna be in the kitchen in a second. Thanks for remembering me.- I smiled.
-No problem, y/n. I'm glad to help you. I'll always be here for you.-
I lost my smile when I realized that he was right.
He was the only one who really was always there for me.
Not my mum or my dad.
But an artificial intelligence.
I pushed that thought away and went to lunch.
Days passed and my moral was lower day by day.
Every moment that passed, in my mind, the thought that my parents didn't care about me became a little bigger.
My days passed between following my lessons, sometimes chatting with dad and the others, not so often with mum and spending the majority of my time alone in my room.
Jarvis, for his part, often tried to talk to me and make me laugh, trying to make me forget that I was trapped in four walls.
-Jarvis, I already told you. I'm fine, really.- I sighed sitting on my bed.
-You are not okay, y/n. Since when you got here you aren't the same.- said the AI -You can tell me what's the problem. We could solve it, together.-
-The problem is, Jarvis, that here I feel trapped and abandoned. Mum is never here. I barely see her. I didn't even remember the last time we ate together. Those days at the tower were amazing. I had someone to talk to. Not that I don't like talking to you, of course. But having dad around. Having people around to talk, to interact. It was...different. In 17 years I haven't met anyone. Here the only things I can do is read, sleep, eat or watch TV. I don't think that's life, honestly...- I let out all the thoughts that I carried inside, and I felt a little better.
-I'm very happy that you talked to me, y/n. But it's almost 12 am, you should go to bed.- Jarvis said.
-Yeah...yeah, I should. Thanks for listening, J.- I smiled.
-You're welcome.-
I went to bed, and after some time I fell asleep.Tony's pov:
I was almost asleep when Jarvis told me that Pepper was calling me.
-Pepper, love. It's almost 2 am. Something wrong?- I asked, rubbing my eyes.
-Yeah, it's y/n...she...she...- she sobbed.
-What happened? Is she hurt?- I asked worriedly.
-Not physically...but Jarvis just told me that she doesn't feel at home here. I'm never here because of my job, you are in New York defending the world, she has been trapped in these four walls for 17 years. We don't even look like a family. She haven't made any friends until the other day...the worst part is the she is right...we always told ourselves it was for her best...but it was the best for us...not for her...-
-I...I don't get it. Why didn't she say anything? We could have helped her.- I said confused, scratching my head.
-She didn't tell me anything either...I failed as a mother...- she said, wiping her eyes.
Seeing her crying was breaking my heart, but knowing that my daughter was feeling like this, was breaking my heart even more.
-Maybe we can do something...- I proposed trying to smile.
