(WARNING: there might be some stuff in this chapter that might be disturbing for younger audiences, but IDK I don't want to get sued for this)
For the second night in a row, I was pacing around my door, waiting for my friends to arrive. This time, I was waiting for probably twenty people to arrive. I was really nervous about the party; my parents were never comfortable with me hosting parties. I was never comfortable with them as well. My parents and I knew that drinking and stuff like that can happen at parties, so my parents told me to host parties with only people I trust. However, Maverick was bringing all of his friends from his Top Gun class, so I'm basically inviting strangers to my party. My parents weren't going to be happy about this.
That wasn't the only reason why I was nervous. I knew what was coming when the pilots would arrive. I remember when I went to a party with Johnny once, and I had to leave because his greaser friends were all over me. They were messing around with me, and they smoked. They even tried to get me to smoke a camel! I didn't even last a full five minutes at that party. And that party was my last.
Now, maybe the pilots aren't as violent as the greasers, but who knows? I didn't want to end up in that situation again....
7:30 sharp. That's when Maverick was supposed to arrive. And nobody was around. There wasn't even a single car out in the streets. It's already 7:38, and nobody has arrived yet. What is taking Maverick and his friends so long?
Finally, after waiting for about 12 minutes, there was a knock on my door. Relieved, I answered it. Now, there was a handsome man standing on my doorstep. At last, Maverick was here.
"Hi, Madison!" Maverick smiled once our eyes met. "Sorry it took so long to show up. Traffic this late at night, ya know..."
"I know. Well, I'm glad you came!" I said. "Anyone else here yet?"
"Oh, yes. Goose is here," Maverick replied. Goose suddenly showed up at the doorstep, and he was holding a bottle of wine.
"Hey, Maddie!" Goose smiled, holding his hand out for a handshake. We shook hands, and I smiled.
"Hey, Goose! Glad you're here!" I said.
"Everyone else is on their way," Maverick explained. "They might be having trouble finding your place. I had to tell each and every one of my classmates your address, and some of them seem as if they'll get lost. But don't worry, they'll arrive soon."
Maverick and Goose walked into my house and shut the door behind them. Goose placed his wine bottle on the kitchen island and sighed. I was about to ask Goose if anything was wrong, until I remembered something.
"Wait, is Charlotte on her way yet?" I asked. I was curious about Charlie, as you may tell. After what happened with her last night, I had to make sure she's alright.
"I dunno," Maverick replied. "She was going to do some work before she left. She might be on her way now, but I'm not sure."
The very moment Maverick finished his sentence, there was yet another knock at my door. "I got it!" I screamed as I ran to the door. I opened it to reveal who it was. Speaking of the devil, Charlotte was there. With a bunch of other men behind her.
"Oh, hey, Charlotte! We were just wondering if you were coming!" I said. Charlotte greeted me with a simple "Hi!" and the rest of the men were completely inaudible.
"Everyone, come inside! Have a seat anywhere!" I said. But when Charlotte walked in, the rest of the men walked in. There was a whole stampede of Top Gun pilots. I swear there might've been pilots there who weren't even in the movie. There were some pilots that I recognized from the bar, but I couldn't tell who more than half of the men were. I tried to ignore the fact that there were a lot of men at my house, but I couldn't. Also, why did they all arrive at the same time? (Kinda)
