Maverick was once again having trouble paying attention in class. This time, as he twirled his pencil around his fingers, he thought of the running with the wolves song. He really enjoyed the movie he saw with Madison last night, and he couldn't stop thinking about the beautiful soundtrack and the British (yes because the movie is Irish) voices of the characters. As Charlotte and Jester were going off about jet tricks, Maverick hummed the wolf song to himself.

I'm running with the wolves tonight. I'm running with the woooooooolves... he hummed slightly.

"Now class, the MiG-28 might perform a split S..." Charlotte was talking to the pilots about MiG-28s and other crap that Maverick pretty much already knew about. He just hummed slightly and stared at the teeth marks on his pencil.

"Maverick...Maverick..." Goose tapped Maverick's shoulder rapidly, not resisting the urge to ask him something. "Is it just me, or is Charlotte look even more hot with glasses on?"

Maverick looked back up at his fiancé, who was pointing to a TV screen that showed satellite images (not really, idk what they're called) of all of the jets. Charlie today was wearing shiny gold glasses that seemed too big for her face. Her short hair seemed extra curly, and Maverick blushed as he stared at her smooth skin.

"Definitely..." Maverick whispered.

"Now, before we get on to our lesson today, we need to explain the thrust of the F-4, in which that'll be a key factor to our lesson..."

I'm running with the— Maverick hummed a little more until Goose stopped him.

"What are you singing?" He whispered quieter than ever.

"It's-it's a song I heard in a movie last night..." Maverick rubbed his tired eyes. He barely got any sleep the night before because he had that song stuck in his head the entire night.

"What movie is it?"

"Have you ever heard of a movie called Wolfwalkers?" Maverick asked.

"I think I have... I'm not sure."

"It's that movie, Goose. It's actually good. I-I saw it with Madison last night..." Maverick couldn't help but mention the girl he felt like he was falling for.

"Really, Mav? You're still hanging with her?" Goose scowled.

"So what! I like her! She's cute and really nice and—"

"Maverick, I'm not trying to be rude or anything, but I think Madison is trying to brainwash you," Goose argued. "There's no way you can marry Madison. You're already engaged to Charlie! She's just trying to make you love her more than Charlie, okay? That might be the whole reason why we might be in danger, according to you!"

"I know, Goose, but I can't let her go..."

Goose scowled again, and he facepalmed himself. "I'm warning you, Mav: you can like Maddie, but you need to be careful, or else your thought of Charlie harming us will come true!"

Maverick jittered and sighed. He then tapped the eraser on the tip of his pencil against the table, continuing to sigh. He didn't say another word to Goose. He didn't want to let Madison go.

"And most of the time, we have to turn left or right to escape missile lock," Charlotte explained, "so, does anyone want to explain to me what we have to do to get away quicker?"

A couple pilots in the class raised their hand, volunteering to answer.

"Wolfman?" Charlie called.

Once Maverick heard the word "wolf", he lost it, and suddenly couldn't control himself. He couldn't stop thinking of the song, and he couldn't stand not singing out loud.
