"OH, Y/N! WELCOME!", Mr. Oka greeted her as soon as the girl set foot in the skate shop.
She became petrified as her eyes met the amber ones of a red-haired boy. He was leaning against the cashier counter and staring at her with the same bewildered look.

"He's Reki. He's one year older than you. Reki, she is your new colleague. Treat each other well.", said the man, pointing first to the boy next to him and then at Y/n. He was hoping to help him break the ice, he wasn't exactly the best when it came to talking to girls.

"Colleague?", she thought, anxiety rising and forming a knot in her throat.
She was expecting that an opportunist like Mr. Oka would have said nothing that could make her retreat her offer.

Y/n's gaze analyzed his baggy clothes, "I like his style. But I'm afraid he's a skating fanatic...", she hoped she was wrong, she hated them because she knew very well how they were. Selfish, just like her.

When Mr. Oka realized that the red-haired boy wasn't going to move an inch, he nudged his side, making him jump in surprise. "Ouch!", Reki glared at the manager, then returned to examine the girl, making Y/n feel very uncomfortable. I mean, a cute boy was staring at her from head to toe!

The young woman felt her cheeks heat up, and she quickly looked away from him.

The redhead scratched the back of his neck, embarrassed. As he approached the newcomer, he blushed.
"Nice to meet you. My name's Kyan Reki. I hope we'll get along well.", his high pitched voice made her jolt, but she pulled herself together soon after. She expected him to have a low pitched voice but instead he sounded like a middle schooler.

"Nice to meet you, too. I'm L/n Y/n. Please, treat me well.", the girl answered shyly, shaking the hand that he was holding out to her.
"Perfect, now I have to put up with three things I hate: skateboards, socializing and males", she grunted in her mind, "I should've not promised to work here...".
Perhaps that gesture of kindness from her would prove to be her more suffering torture.
Or was it a disguised blessing?
