"WHAT'S THE PROBLEM? You keep being distracted from the movie.", Y/n called Reki, who gasped in fright at hearing her voice. The redhead had continued to have his head in the clouds ever since she had arrived at his house.
"T-That's not true! I'm watching it!", he argued, but the girl didn't believe him, "Oh, really? Can you tell me what happened in the last 10 minutes then?", she asked, raising an eyebrow.

Reki sighed, closing the pc while he sat down in a composed way on his bed as the curious eyes of the girl followed him attentively.
"As you know, Langa wants to challenge Adam.", he began, his voice trembling with concern for him. Y/n smiled, understanding what the problem was.

"Aww, you're worried about your friend!", she said, pinching his cheek, and the boy rolled his eyes, cheeks red with embarrassment.
"Yes, yes I am, alright?! Neither I nor Mr. Oka were able to change his mind and what is worse is that he wants to win!", he replied, earning a confused look from the girl, "So what? Aren't you supposed to be glad that he tries so hard?", Reki shook his head.
"You know I didn't mean it that way...
He's going to get killed! I've tried firsthand what Adam is capable of and I'm not sure a rookie like him would be able to beat him!", he continued and Y/n smiled to comfort him, "It'll be okay, Reki. Nothing is going to happen to Langa now that he knows the risks, and that's all thanks to you who ended up in this state!".

The redhead smiled back faintly, "I hope you're right...", he replied as an amused grin formed on the girl's lips, "Of course I'm right! Am I or am I not the smartest and most fabulous employee of Dope Sketch?", Reki rolled his eyes, giggling.

The boy looked thoughtful for a moment, suddenly his eyes were lost in nothingness, "Hey", his friend called back in a soft voice, "Don't think too much about it, everything will turn out for the best.", she continued.
He shook his head, "That's not the only thing that worries me...", he replied, then sighed heavily.
"Can I talk to you about how I started skateboarding?", noticing his pleading eyes, Y/n decided to listen to him, but not before scrunching her nose in frustration.

"Okay, I'm listening.", she urged him to continue and the redhead took a deep breath before starting to speak, "You know, I started skateboarding because I had a friend who asked me to pick it up with him.", he said, a small smile dawned on his lips remembering the good old days. All of a sudden, his face went dark, "But he got injured really badly...", he added in a faint voice, "...And he quit skateboarding.".

Y/n felt a tight grip in the stomach. She couldn't even imagine the pain Reki felt, surely he had felt very guilty. Yet... he vaguely reminded her of the situation with her former best friend.
It was like deja vu, but this time it wasn't her with the bandaged arms and the wounds... but Reki.
