"GOOD MORNING, MR. OKA!", the girl said, opening the door of the skateboarding shop. She wore her best smile, hoping the manager wouldn't notice her disgust, "Oh, good morning Y/n. What brings you here?", he waved from behind the counter playfully.
The little fennec fox, Sketchy, immediately jumped into the young woman's arms. That pet had been affectionate to her from the moment they first met and it was the only thing she liked in that place aside from Mr. Oka.
"My mom looks so much happier since she's dating you, so I came here to help you out.", she replied, stroking Sketchy's little head, "I'd like to work here since I know you're short on staff.". The man widened his eyes in surprise, a little bit embarrassed about his shop's situation, but in a short time, he was smiling again, "Thank you very much Y/n, that's very kind of you. You can start working here from tomorrow morning at 9.00.", the girl nodded, putting the animal back on the counter.
After that, she handed the man a pair of fancy red sunglasses. His confused look made her chuckle a little before explaining the reason of her gesture, "Mom said you forgot them at our house.". She noticed how Mr. Oka's cheeks turned light pink, making her giggle again, so she hid her smile behind her palm.
The man coughed before answering, probably to give himself a more convincing tone, "Thank you!", he replied, and Y/n greeted him, turning to leave the shop.
She took a few steps, with her back to the counter, then stopped, "Oh, I almost forgot,", she added, looking back at the curious figure of Mr. Oka, "There is no need to pay me, of course. I hope you'll take care of me.", she bowed respectfully as the man smiled and did the same. "I hope we'll get along well.", he replied, watching the girl leave.
