READERS POV
It was an overcast day in New York today, though Wanda and I still decided to go for a walk to a coffee shop that we both adored a little ways away. We had stayed there for a couple of hours, and we were currently on our way home.
"Do you think it's going to rain?" Wanda asked me, stopping for a moment as she looked up at the grey sky.
"I don't know. Sometimes it gets like this and then never does." I answered.
"I hope it does," she says. "I love the rain, it's so soothing. The noise it makes as it falls, watching the raindrops race down a window trying to figure out which one's going to win, just everything about it makes me content."
I looked over to her, seeing a soft smile on her face as she spoke about the rain. Seeing her smiling put a smile on my own face. If there was one thing I could do all day without getting bored, it would be staring at her smile. Something about it was so contagious and it only made my crush on her grow even more every time I saw it.
We continued our walk home, and we were passing by central park when the first raindrop fell. Wanda and I looked at each other as grins began to form on our faces.
"Come on," she said grabbing my hand and dragging me over to a large patch of grass. By the time we had made it there, the skies had opened up soaking the both of us.
I glanced over at Wanda seeing a beaming smile on her face, my own lips twitching up at the sight of it.
She began to twirl around, head tilted back, and arms open wide. I watched her for a minute before joining in on the shenanigans. A boisterous laughter came from us both, as we twirled and messed around under the heavy downpour.
I slipped, falling on my butt and landing in the mud. Wanda started laughing even harder, but I just embraced it. I leaned back, lying fully on the ground as I closed my eyes and let the rain wash over my skin.
I was like that for a minute before I heard a soft thud beside me. I opened my eyes to see that Wanda had fallen over as well and now it was my turn to laugh.
"Yeah, yeah." She said as she stood back up, grabbing my hand and dragging me up with her in the process.
"W-what are y-you doing?" I asked as she proceeded to wrap her arms around my waist, starting to sway.
She looked down at me with a soft smile. "We're dancing." She spoke, resting her forehead against mine.
We continued to stand there swaying, as the rain fell around us. In this moment I felt like we were the only two people in the world.
A few minutes later, Wanda pulled her forehead away from mine and looked down into my eyes. I stared back up into hers seeing the soft drops on her lashes, red hair sticking to her cheeks.
"Y/N?" She asked, removing one of her hands from my waist and bringing it up to stroke my cheek, then tucking my hair behind my ear.
"Yeah?"
"Can I kiss you?"
A small smile graced my face. "Yeah." I said, my voice barley a whisper.
Wanda leant down and pressed her lips against mine in a gentle kiss, testing the waters. A few seconds later, she deepened the kiss slightly and I couldn't help but smile against her lips, feeling her own smile against mine as well.
We pulled away after the two of us ran out of breath. With my eyes remaining closed, I missed the smile that Wanda gave me. The one she had reserved specially for me. My eyes popped open, seeing her beautiful blues already staring at me.
"You're so beautiful." She said genuinely, causing a blush to cover my cheeks. "I hope you know this means you're mine now"
"I was always yours," I told her.
Her grin widened. "We should probably head back now before we get sick," she said.
I rested my head against her chest. "In a minute. I just wanna stay like this for another minute."
"Okay." She spoke faintly, bringing her head to rest in the crook of my neck.
We stayed like that another moment more before we reluctantly pulled apart, Wanda grabbing my hand and spinning me one last time. My body twirled away from her, before being quickly pulled back so my back was pressed against her chest. She kissed my temple promptly, then we both took off running hand in hand back to the tower.
We burst through the tower doors laughing, soaked to the bone, and covered in mud only to find Steve staring at us with a wide smile.
"And where have you two been?" He asked us with a chuckle, crossing his arms.
"Oh, you know." I said glancing over at Wanda, squeezing her hand and shooting her a smile. "Just dancing in the rain."
