READERS POV

My best friend Lily had decided that she had had enough of my ass being single, and complaining about it all the time, so her grand idea was to set me up on a blind date. Which led to me being here, getting ready to go out on a date on a Monday night. Lily had arranged for me and one of her newly single friends to meet at a bar called Franks, so at least if something went wrong there would be alcohol. I had arrived just before seven, a few minutes early, so I wasn't too worried to see that Carrie wasn't here yet. Until time started to pass by, and she still wasn't here.

Ugh, where is she? It had already been half an hour that I've been waiting for her, and she was still a no show.

I called the bartender over and ordered a shot of tequila. She gave me a look asking if I was okay, sensing my distress, but I waved her off. I was going to give Carrie the benefit of the doubt and give her a few more minutes. Maybe she got stuck in traffic?

On a Monday night Y/N, do you really believe that? I thought but brushed it off anyway.

A few minutes had steadily turned into another drink and another half an hour passing by, when I received a text from the aforementioned 'Carrie' that I was supposed to be meeting.

Carrie: Hey, it's Carrie. Lily gave me your number and I'm sorry for blowing you off, but I'm not coming. Worked things out with my ex and we're back together now. Hope you have a great rest of your night:)

What the actual fuck. This bitch just really made me sit here for an hour by myself only to have the audacity to text me an hour later that she got back together with her ex?

"Fuck."

"You alright?" The bartender asked me.

"Wait shit, did I say that out loud?" I asked.

"Yep."

"Well, damn. I'm sorry," I laughed out.

"Do you wanna talk about it? I mean I am a bartender. Don't people always spill their secrets to us?" She questioned.

"I mean you do have a point, but I don't know if I want to spill my guts out to a total stranger." I responded playfully.

"I'm Natasha, but call me Nat. There, now we're acquaintances." Nat introduced herself.

"Y/N, and yes. That's better." I said, a smirk forming on my face that I directed towards her. "Well, I guess if you must know. My best friend set me up on a blind date with one of her friends because, and I quote, 'I'm tired of your sorry ass complaining that you're single.' Like I'm sorry that I'm not already happily married to my soulmate like you are. She needs to chill-."

Nat cut my rant off before it started, which was probably a smart move on her part. "Sounds like a great friend."

"She has her moments," I answered getting back on track. "All in all, Carrie seemed like a nice person, so I agreed to it. Anyway, about... some minutes ago, Carrie texted me. Keep in mind that I've been here for an hour already waiting for her cause I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt. So, I read the text and what does it fucking say? That she's not coming and that she got back together with her ex, and then tells me to enjoy the rest of my night with a smiley face."

"Wow." Nat breathed out, physically wincing at my pain. "That's fucking shitty."

"Tell me about it," I said as I downed the rest of my drink. "Can I get another, please?"
