Chapter 3 The First Wave

Y/n's POV

Big sis and I were chasing down a porcupine as Naofumi pulled the spikes out of his arm. "Kitsune fireball!" I yelled. The porcupine dodged my fireball, but Big sis slashed it and killed it. "Aw I missed." I pouted. I felt a hand rest on my head. "It's okay, you're getting better at magic." Big sis said, trying to cheer me up. I looked up at her, feeling a little jealous about her growing so fast. "You two ready to go?" Naofumi called. We looked over at him and nodded. He ended up feeding the porcupine to his shield, giving him more abilities to use. "Any new fun abilities?" I asked as we headed into town. 

"Not really, just the usual stuff." Naofumi said. I felt something grab my hand as we were walking through the streets. "You need to be more careful with where you're walking Y/n." Big sis said. I looked at her and pouted again. "Just because you're bigger than me doesn't mean I can't look out for myself." I said. 

"Sorry, but I just want to keep my little sister safe." Big sis said. I sighed and gripped onto her hand. We headed to Erhard's shop, where we started talking about armor and equipment for everyone. "What else have you three been up to?" Erhard asked. 

"I've finally learned how to use utensils from Y/n and now I can eat properly like Y/n and master Naofumi." Big sis said. Erhard nodded and looked down at me. "How have you been doing since that time?" He asked.

"Naofumi and I talked about it a while ago and I feel so much better. Plus, I have a big sister now." I said with a smile. 

"Alright, what are you looking for today?" Erhard asked. 

"We're here to buy armor for master Naofumi and Y/n." Big sis said. Naofumi looked at her before I looked at my armor. "What are you talking about? We're here for your equipment." Naofumi said. 

"Thank you for your concern, but I think it's time you two protect yourselves. Did you already forget that you were hurt earlier?" Big sis argued. Naofumi looked at her and sighed as she pointed at him. "Of course not, you need a weapon." Naofumi said. Big sis drew a sword sitting on a counter. "Stop messing around with your life or else you'll die." Big sis said holding her finger close to the edge of the blade. I looked at her concerned about her finger. "Boss this sword is really sharp." Big sis said moving the blade to her palm. I walked over and looked at her finger worried about her bleeding. "I'm okay Y/n I promise." Big sis said. I nodded and started looking around at the weapons before pulling out the book I had since the beginning. They started talking about armor and making armor before they made a deal on the sword for big sis. We headed towards the restruarant to get some food to eat, on the way there big sis held my hand and made sure that I didn't walk out in front of a wagon. "Big sis I can walk by myself." I said trying to get her to let go. 

"Y/n, just let Raphtalia do what she wants." Naofumi said. I sighed and let her continue holding my hand. Once we got to the restruarant I sat next to big sis before hearing a stomach growl. "It wasn't me." Big sis said defensively. I giggled and looked at Naofumi. "Don't worry it was me." He said. I felt someone looking at me, so I turned and looked behind me only to see no one looking at me. "Are you folks ready to order?" A waiter asked.

"We'll have one of the cheapest lunchset, and two kid lunchsets." Naofumi said.

"Master Naofumi stop treating me like a kid. We'll have two of the cheapest lunch sets and one kids lunch set." Big sis said. The waiter looked at me like I was going to say something. "That's okay right Y/n?" Big sis asked. 

"Yeah, I like the kids lunch set." I said. The waiter nodded and headed back to the kitchen so they could start making our food. "After lunch let's keep leveling up in the field and come back here for the night." Naofumi said.
