Y/n's POV

A couple of days had passed, and there was a party being thrown by the king for the heroes. We all went, since there was a reward being given to us by the king at the end of the party. Big sis had grown a little to after the battle. "Is there something you want to try that's here?" She asked as we looked at the tables full of food.

"Not really. I just want to sit somewhere quiet and read. Plus, I want to leave, so I don't have to deal with anyone here." I said. As I said that, we overheard the knight leader talking about how he stood his ground against a giant monster. I shook my head at hearing what he was talking about. "Well, it looks like the area around master Naofumi is quiet. How about we head over there and sit near him?" Big sis suggested. I nodded in agreement before grabbing some food and heading over to him. "Master Naofumi? Would you like to try some of the food?" Big sis asked. I sat down on the floor and ate the food I had grabbed before opening my book, reading some more spells I can use. "No, I'm fine." Naofumi said. He sat there looking out the window, silently being antisocial again. "You should have some Naofumi, I think it's great too." I said. He looked down at me before big sis came back over offering him a bite. He took a bite of the food, but didn't have any reaction to it. "See, it is good." Big sis said. I saw the spear hero coming towards us before taking off one of his gloves. "Naofumi. Time to fight." Motoyasu said, throwing his glove on the ground in front of Naofumi.

I sat there and silently laughed about his challenge. "Is there something funny about a duel, you damned demi?" Myne asked. I nodded and looked up at her. "It's funny because you think Motoyasu can beat Naofumi with no help. That's what so funny about it." I said. Myne got upset with me before she looked me in my eyes. "I heard that you've made poor Raphtalia your slave and I bet you're thinking of doing the same to Y/n." Motoyasu said. Big sis was shocked to hear this. "Why do you care about that?" Naofumi asked.

"Watch your tone." Motoyasu said.

"How about you both watch it and leave each other alone?" I said, turning back to my book. I felt Motoyasu look at me before I heard a chuckle from Naofumi. "Y/n's right, you stay out of my business and I'll stay out of yours." Naofumi said. I heard a growl from Myne and Motoyasu. "You can't be serious thinking that it's okay for a hero to have a slave," Motoyasu said, "Besides, I'm sure Y/n has a problem with it too."

"Are you listening to yourself? Slavery is legal here and she's been a great help and it might be shocking, but Y/n hasn't said anything bad against it yet either." Naofumi said.

"We're heroes in this world though, we shouldn't be having slaves." Motoyasu said. I looked up to see him looking at me. "Don't you think it's wrong for Raphtalia to be his slave?" He asked me.

"In my opinion I think it should be up to the person whether or not she wants to serve him as a slave." I said. He was shocked by my answer. "Look you have the right to your opinion and I disagree with it." Naofumi said. Naofumi gets up from the windowsill before Motoyasu points his spear at  Naofumi. "Let's do this." He said. Big sis was shocked by what was happening. "If I win you set Raphtalia free and Y/n joins us again so she's safe." Motoyasu said.

"Alright, what happens if I win this duel of ours?" Naofumi asked.

"That's not going to happen, but if you do nothing will change." Motoyasu said. I let out a sigh and stood up. "In a duel normally two people agree on having something of same value given in exchange for the other to win. That's not a fair duel if Naofumi doesn't recieve anything in return if he wins." I said. Motoyasu stares at me shocked by my knowledge. "There's no law or anything that says that." Myne said. Naofumi started walking away calling Motoyasu an idiot. "Master Naofumi?" Big sis asked watching him walk away. I heard everyone talking about how he had a slave or that he was a bad hero. I started to say something, but Naofumi cut me off. "It's not worth it Y/n, let's just head out of here before someone else tries something stupid." Naofumi said. I followed him setting my plate of food on a table big sis did that same as we made our way down the stairs. A knight stopped Naofumi by holding his spear up in front of him. "It's been brought to my attention that a hero has been using a demi-human as a slave to fight for you. You've violated our customs," The King said, "I order you to accept the challenge."
