Chapter Six: I Can't Be A Wolf!

"Really?!" Hunter asked, seeming way too excited about the idea of knowing who I am.

"Yeah, but he doesn't love her anymore... Right Lisa?" My face grew hard, he was baiting me. "Kicked poor princess out on the street." Jason pouted, running a hand down my cheek.

"Well then I certainly don't see any reason for him to meet with her." Hunter stood his ground, which wasn't to Jason's liking.

"Alpha wants her, I get her." He shrugged it off, turning his gaze back onto mine.

"If Alpha Forte wants Lisa, then he must come see her at my pack house." Hunter took a few steps forward in our direction.

"Fine by me, if you want the bitch, have her!"

Before I could react, Jason threw me up in the air, my body slamming against a tree. I cried out in pain, hearing a snap come from spine as I fell to the ground. I tried to stand up, tried to fight back, but it was no use. Until my body heals itself, I'm paralyzed.

"Wrong move." Hunter pounced onto Jason, biting at his flesh.

Jason fought back hard, giving Hunter deep cuts every once in awhile. So much blood was being shed by the two it became difficult to tell who's it was. Finally Hunter had Jason pinned to the ground.

"Tell your Alpha if he wants my mate he has to go through me." And just like that Jason dashed through the woods, back to his pack.

I hadn't realized I was crying until Hunter wiped away my tears as he picked my body up from the forest floor. I cried out in pain from his actions. Hunter placed me back on the ground, trying his hardest not to hurt me again.

"I'm so sorry Lisa." He bent his head into my hair.

I wanted to say something, anything, but I was afraid if I opened my mouth only a scream would come out.

"Relax." Hunters husky voice whispered into my ear, my body immediately filled with warmth.

I couldn't hold back the screams as my spine began to crack. My body was healing, but it hurt like hell. My spine repositioned itself to be perfectly straight on my back and my bones joined together again. Finally the pain had subsided and I relaxed on the ground.

Hunter saw that I was feeling better so he once again went to lift me into his arms. It didn't hurt this time, it actually felt nice. His touch was calming and soft. I became soothed by hearing the beat of his heart as he pressed me firmly against his chest, sprinting back to the house. When we got to the house he rushed inside and set me down on the bed.

"Relax Lisa, you're safe now." He cooed into my ear.

My eyelids began to become heavy, I could feel myself drifting. He slid into the bed next to me and pulled my body into his. I could feel his heat radiating onto my skin and I didn't fight it. I was too tired to put up a protest, so I leaned against his warm, hard chest as consciousness left me.
