Chapter Twenty Eight: Accepting The Truth
"You can open your eyes now." The other verson of myself whispered softly from afar.
I heard the crashing of waves, the singing of seagulls and the wind blowing around what could only be sand. Opening my eyes, I looked out into the deep, clear blue ocean, enjoying every bit of it. This place calmed every part of me, it sent me into a trance of peace and serenity. I smiled to myself, relaxing and spinning around to take the whole beach in.
"Like it?" She giggled, snapping me out of my mind and pulling me back into the moment.
I took a breath, filling my nose with every smell the beach has to offer. "Where are we?" I asked, taken back by the beauty this place contains.
"This," She answered, motioning towards the area. "Is the place Hunter and I had our first date." She stated with a grin.
My jaw dropped at the sound of that. Hunter and her went on a date, here? "But then why are we here now?" I wondered aloud.
"Lisa, I already told you. I want to show you who Hunter is to me - who he is to us." She replied, walking closer to where I stand.
I stood frozen, shocked by how much moving from place to place I keep doing. Somethings not right about this place, but I can't tell what. I feel a pull here, something inside of me feels like it's being woken up for the first time. My body is so at ease, so relaxed here and yet I've never even seen this place before! Why am I acting this way towards a beach?
"It's not the beach that's making you feel those things." My wolf spoke up, answering the questions in my mind.
Sometimes I forget she can hear my thoughts.
She started to laugh and it clicked in my head that her laughs were probably directed towards my last thought. "Yes Lisa, I can still hear you, but it's only because we are one," She smiled brightly. "Now as I was saying, it's not the beach making you so relaxed."
"Then what is it?" I questioned, not understand what she's getting at now.
"Over there." She sang, pointing to direct my gaze onto the far end of the beach.
I squinted my eyes in attempt to make something out, but I couldn't see anything. "Are you sure there's something over there?" I asked in an annoyed tone, not liking being messed with.
"Shut up and just keep looking." She urged and I rolled my eyes before turning my attention back to the spot.
I keep looking and only seconds later, a tall figure appeared. The pull inside me instantly grew stronger and my heartbeat began to pick up its pace. My gaze became locked on two bright silver eyes, filling my body with heat. As the figure moved closer I began to make it out better piece by piece, until I finally saw it.
This figure walking towards us, sending my body on the fritz is Hunter.
"See it now." She whispered in my ear.
I wanted nothing more than to turn and glare at her, but I couldn't. My eyes stayed locked in on Hunter's and my body remained still, reluctant to move. My mouth went dry as he came closer, never once looking away from my eyes. I begged my mind to let me look away from him, but it wouldn't let me. I had no hope left inside about breaking free from this spell he's putting me under with each step he takes closer.
