"You mean to tell me, that you came face to face with the killer and watched them ride the elevator up to the top floor, so they could murder your witness?"

"...Yes?" Lisa responded meekly to a red-faced Kim Jisoo, whom she had just, through her embarrassment, explained what had happened.

"You are my top detective Manoban. How, on God's green earth, did you allow this to happen?"

"It wasn't on purpose!" An embarrassed Lisa spluttered. "It all happened so quickly!"

"Get your story straight, Manoban. Either you had an encounter where you had a conversation and she handed you back your phone, or it all happened so quickly that you didn't have time to react. Which is it?"

"Both?"

"Did you, or did you not, see the suspect hit the button to the top floor?"

"Yes, but my brain didn't process it!"

"And why's that?"

"I don't know! I've barely slept, and I wasn't thinking properly."

"I have myself witnessed you go three days without sleep and manage to successfully and single-handedly capture and arrest a man twice your age."

"It's because she was too busy fucking her twenty different ways in her mind," Bambam commented smugly from behind his cup.

"Fuck off, Bambam," Lisa bit back.

"You're attracted to the perp?" Jisoo questioned.

"No!" Lisa yelled defensively.

"Because if you are, you need to be taken off this case immediately. We can't afford any more slip-ups."

"I'm not, Jisoo, I swear."

Jisoo pursed her lips and was silent for a moment. "Fine, you're still on the case." Lisa let out a sigh of relief. "But I need you on full alert from every moment forward, full night's sleep or not."

"I will be," Lisa nodded eagerly.

Jisoo nodded, "you need to speak with the forensic artist," and then left the room. The second she was gone Bambam erupted in splutters of laughter.

"Shut up, Bambam!"

"Be honest, how hot was she?"

"She's a serial killer."

Bambam rolled his eyes. "Don't act like you're not into that, Lisa. I've known you a long time."

Lisa chewed on her bottom lip, ignoring the teasing coming from Bambam. She had fucked up and it had cost four people their lives. As far as she was concerned, their blood was on her hands. That meant she had to do whatever it took to put this killer away, and she could not fuck up again.

A knock on the door pulled Lisa from her thoughts.

"Lisa, the artist is here," it was Somi.

"Bring them in," Lisa beckoned.

A man in his mid-thirties entered the room and took a seat beside Lisa.

"Miss Manoban, my name is Mark. I'm here to take your description. Can you start with the main things you remember about them?"

"Yes. She was petite, maybe a couple of inches shorter than me, slim body, looked like she was in her mid-twenties, dark hair, dark eyes. Her face was quite round."

"Her race? Ethnicity?"

"Asian. She looked Korean, but she was definitely East Asian."

"Okay, and can you describe her features to me? In as much detail as you can, please."
