THIRTEEN

New York during Winter was definitely a sight to be seen, especially since Christmas was right around the corner and all the decorations were in full flight.

Although it may have been pretty, it was also absolutely freezing. Jennie preferred to carry out her jobs in summer clothes and high heels rather than in layers of clothes and boots. No matter, after this she would fly back to a country that was of a suitable temperature.

Then she remembers she has business in South Korea.

Pulling her trench coat tighter, she caught sight of her target heading down to the subway. How annoying. She hated poor people's travel. On the bright side, it's late and cold so there are not many people around. This should be a quick and easy kill.

Though, sometimes she did prefer the ones that took a little longer. They were more fun. Then again, since she had met a certain Thai detective, she was the only thing that could give Jennie the high that she had been chasing since she was a teenager and she killed for the first time.

She always liked violence, but the feeling of taking a life, having that much power and watching someone take their last breath, the life draining from their eyes, Jennie knew then she'd found her calling.

But then she got herself locked up after her first kills. And four years later she was recruited, broken out and trained in the thing she loved the most in the world. So, in the end, it all worked out.

Until she met Lisa.

There had been no other mention of the detective being targeted since her encounter with Jeongyeon. Her handler hadn't even as much as mentioned it when he gave her this kill, but she was on high alert. And she was hopeful Lisa was too now that she'd told her. It'd be such a shame for her to die. Jennie loved the high she felt with her.

The sooner she got this job done, the sooner she could get back to South Korea. The game that they had set up was enticing and Jennie was determined to watch Lisa break and go against everything she stood for, although she had already done that when she let Jennie into her hotel room that day in Amsterdam, and both the times that followed where she had gotten into bed with her, whether sex followed or not.

Stepping into the vehicle, she takes a quick glance around and spots a few people. Witnesses were troublesome, she would have to wait until he got off. He's in the cart next to her, head down, eyes on his phone. Poor man doesn't even realise he's going to die tonight.

They come to the next stop and the man gets off. Jennie moves quickly, noticing they were the only two to get off at this stop. The station is empty and Jennie hovers for a second as the subway starts moving again before following the man from a safe distance.

When she decides it's the right moment, she whistles to get his attention.

"Hey," she calls, and the man turns around. "I have something for you."

The man looks at her curiously for a second, but his eyes widen when Jennie starts charging at him. He turns to run but before he can take more than two steps Jennie has tackled him to the ground. His face smacks the cold dirty floor and Jennie grabs his wrists and effortlessly pulls them behind him.

Jennie chuckles and the man screams. "Shut up. Tell me how you want to die."

"I don't want to die!" The man cries.

Jennie furrows her brows. "That's not really an option."

"Please! I'll do anything," the man begs and Jennie smiles when she realises he is actually sobbing now.

"Oh, don't be dramatic. Come on. I'm feeling nice so I'm granting you one last wish."

"My last wish is to live!"
