Mark smiled to himself and quickly texted his mom back, telling her he'd probably stop by and see Tiffany's parents tomorrow.
"Mark, did you eat lunch?" Jungwoo's voice echoed from the living room.
"Ah, no."
"Come eat before you pass out."
"Yeah, yeah." Mark slipped his phone into his pocket and walked out of his room.
After lunch, he sprawled across the couch and opened Instagram. Without thinking, he tapped the search bar.
Then typed, @tiffany_moon
Her profile appeared immediately. Mark clicked on it.
The first thing he noticed was her smile. The second thing he noticed was that she somehow looked nothing like the twelve-year-old girl from his photo album anymore.
"Wow..." He scrolled through another picture. "...she got prettier."
"What are you doing?"
Mark nearly launched his phone across the room. He looked up.
Doyoung was standing behind the couch. Watching. Judging.
"Nothing."
Doyoung narrowed his eyes. "That wasn't a nothing face."
"It was."
"It wasn't."
"It was."
"Mark."
"Doyoung." A pause.
Then Mark immediately locked his phone and stood up. "I should go practice."
Doyoung watched him retreat toward his room.
"Suspicious."
"Leave me alone!"
Back in his room, Mark grabbed his guitar and sat on the edge of his bed. He still had some time before heading to SM for NCT 2021 preparations.
His fingers automatically found the chords. Softly, he started singing.
"And you kiss me slowly..." He closed his eyes. "It's the sweetest thing..."
His phone vibrated. Mark's eyes flew open.
The guitar was forgotten instantly. He grabbed the phone.
A smile spread across his face.
