Tiffany woke up with a start.
The buzzing sound beside the bed made her flinch. Mark's phone was vibrating aggressively on the table.
She squinted, blinking through sleep, and reached over to grab it.
6:30 AM.
She groaned.
"Why the fuck do you have an alarm for six thirty?" she muttered.
Mark stirred beside her, hair sticking up in every direction as he pushed himself up on one elbow.
"What..."
She shoved the phone into his hand and immediately collapsed back down, this time on his lap.
"Do you have to go right now?"
He blinked at the screen like it personally offended him.
"...Yeah."
Then he leaned down, eyes still half-closed, and pressed a slow, sleepy kiss to her lips.
"I'll be back by ten though."
"Alright," she sighed, sitting up reluctantly.
He dragged himself off the bed and shuffled into the bathroom.
Tiffany watched him through half-lidded eyes as he brushed his teeth, splashed water on his face, stared blankly at his reflection like a man questioning all his life choices.
A minute later, he came back in.
Smiled. Then promptly climbed back onto the bed.
She laughed.
"Why did you lie down again?"
"I don't wanna go," he whined, tugging her down until she was sprawled on his chest. "I wanna stay in bed."
"Stop being lazy," she scolded weakly.
He buried his face in her hair.
"Go now so you can come back at ten and we can go to lunch."
He groaned dramatically, fingers combing through her hair.
"Come on," she added. "I won't come to your performance if you don't get up right now."
He shot upright instantly. She blinked.
"...Wow."
"Threats work," he muttered.
She laughed, sitting up too and kissing his cheek.
"Good boy. I'll just study while you're gone."
He nodded and shuffled out again, probably to grab clothes.
Tiffany stretched before heading to the bathroom herself, brushing her teeth and doing her morning routine.
When she came out, Mark was standing in front of the mirror, tugging at his shirt like it had personally wronged him.
"Ready?" she asked.
"Yeah." He nodded, then tilted his head. "You know what I was thinking?"
"Hm?" she hummed, grabbing a hoodie and sweatpants from the closet.
"You shift to my room."
She paused.
"...What?"
"I've got space in my closet," he said casually. "You can put your stuff there. We can stay together."
She chuckled. s"You know I'm not here forever, right?"
He shrugged. "Who says I'm staying here forever either? I'll be back in the dorms once you leave."
She smiled softly and walked up to him, pecking his lips.
"...Fine. I'll move there today."
His face lit up.
"I love you."
"I love you too," she laughed. "Aren't you getting late?"
"Yeah." He sighed. "I'll see you later."
"Did you eat anything?"
"Nope. I'll grab something later."
She grabbed his wrist.
"At least take an apple."
She shoved one into his hand.
"Eat it on the way."
He smiled, nodded obediently, and disappeared down the stairs.
A few seconds later she heard the front door open.
Crunch. Another. Then the door slammed shut.
She shook her head, smiling to herself.
