After her bath, Tiffany slipped into a top and shorts and sat on the bed with her MacBook. She still had an assignment due by midnight, once she submitted it, she'd officially be free for the holidays.
A knock came at the door. She opened it to see Minhyuck holding a mug.
"Coffee for Dr. Tiffany Moon," he grinned.
"Oh, thank you. You didn't have to," she laughed.
"You know how Mom is," he chuckled. "Oh, and Mark called. The members won't be able to come."
"Oh." She nodded. "Is he coming, though?"
"Yeah," Minhyuck smiled. "Earlier than planned, actually."
"That's...that's great," she said softly.
"I'll call you when dinner's ready."
"Thanks."
She went back to her bed, typing and sipping her coffee.
The doorbell rang downstairs.
"He's here!" Minhyuck called.
Her heart skipped.
She hurried out and saw Mark in the living room, pulling off his shoes and mask.
"Did she eat anything?" he was asking. "Is she resting? How was her flight?"
"Why don't you go ask her yourself?" Mrs. Lee laughed.
"Miss me, Markus?" Tiffany called from the stairs.
"You bet!" he grinned, walking toward her.
She ran down and collided into him halfway, he wrapped his arms around her waist and lifted her off the ground.
She squealed and laughed.
"I missed you so much, Tiff," he said, burying his face into her shoulder.
She tugged lightly at the hair at the back of his neck.
"I missed you too."
"Was that your voice shaking?" he teased. "Is the fierce Tiffany Moon crying?"
He pulled back and yes, her eyes were glossy.
She wiped at them and laughed awkwardly.
"Hold on, why are you crying?" he asked, half laughing, half concerned, pulling her into another hug.
She hugged him tighter this time and let the tears fall.
He smiled, but his chest felt tight too. She was one of the most important people in his life. His first love, even if neither of them ever said it out loud.
"Oh, I'm sorry," Mrs. Lee interrupted gently. "Dinner's not ready yet."
"It's okay, Mom," Mark said. "Me and Tiffany can go meet the Dreamies till then. They were dying to see her."
"Oh my God, I'm their noona, right?" Tiffany gasped.
"Yeah," he laughed. "Wanna go?"
"I just need to submit my assignment first."
"Wear something warm," he said, following her to her room. "It's cold."
"Yeah, yeah, one second."
She hit submit, grabbed a sweater and skirt, and went to change.
When she came out, he nodded approvingly.
"Wait...I won't get you in trouble by hanging out with you, right?" she asked.
"I mean...I could," he shrugged. "But my manager's with me, so we're good."
"Is he cute?" she smirked.
"Oh, shut up," he laughed, tossing a pillow at her. "He's engaged."
Her eyes widened. She covered her face.
He burst out laughing, nearly falling over the bed.
"Let's go?" she muttered, red-faced.
"Let's go."
