I headed to my room while thinking about how my roommate was going to be like. I would've been comfortable if we were told who our roommate was. I arrived in front of my room and unlocked it. The room was vast enough two beds on the opposite side. There were study tables at the end of both beds it seemed that my roommate already checked in before me. Because the other side of the room was pretty...messy. Bags were laying down on the floor. Laptop and books see spread across on the bed as if it was an Exhibition.

The bed was was not made and it had black bed sheets crumbled.  There were posters on the other side of some bands to which I didn't even recognise the names.

Everything was so not organised. I just sighed and urged myself that whosoever it was, he or she is going to clean after returning. Perhaps something came up and he or she had to run.

I was trying to be optimistic. I opened my bag and changed into some comfy clothes. I started keeping my stuff in place.

I laid the bed sheet which was light pinkish. I took out my clothes to place them into the closet.

The closet was a compartment divided into two halves. I chose the side which was more outward. I unloaded all my shoes from the bag.

I brought around 3 pairs.  I placed them under my bed.

The room was almost done.  Books were placed on the desk. The trash was removed and kept in a plastic bag beside. I stood a little behind holding a deep breath and looking at my side. I started to o twist the ring on my finger while looking at the room. By mistake the ring came off and rolled under my roommate's bed. Ughhh. I sighed disappointed.

I went to the bed and kneeled in front of it and then bend down to see where my ring was. I turned on the flashlight of my phone to have a look underneath the bed. I spotted the ring it wasn't very far.

I was so occupied with the rescue mission of the ring that I didn't hear the opening and closing of the door. "Why are you bending under my bed?" An alarmed masculine voice fell upon my ears. I suddenly tried to get up and ended up bumping my head against the bed.

"Ouch" I never fail to embarrass myself.  I got up running running my head lightly. Well, at least I got my ring. It was Daniel.

He seemed muddled and astonished. "Oh no no. I am your roommate." I told him in a defensive tone.  He rolled his eyes in dismay. It seemed like he wasn't satisfied with getting me as a roommate. "I'm Maya" I introduced myself expecting him to do the same he walked towards me and slid past me laying on the bed. "No one cares" he spoke. I am already regretting the decision to stay on campus. I just glimpsed at him and he was in his phone doing something. I went and sat on my bed expecting no conversation.

I wanted a roommate like me. At least a little bit.  I took out my laptop and started to see through my courses.

The classes started on Monday and it was Saturday today. That implies I have one day to prepare for the classes. I liked the Pre planning.

I also liked procrastination.

And they both don't go politely together. I started to type my schedule and the stuff that I needed. I have to explore the campus. I will do that tomorrow. Suddenly there was a knock at the door.  The door was free so I just exclaimed, "it's open." The door opened and Daniel's friends came in. It was jack and Kathryn. Daniel sat up straight after looking at them. "Oh are you daniel's new roommate?" Kathryn said being a little stunned.

I nodded a yes am with a polite smile. She took a seat beside him and jack sag on the study desk's chair. "That's cool. I am Kathryn and this is jack" she said ponting at jack. I smiled at jack. "How was your move in?" Jack asked me with an angelic smile.

"It was easier than I thought" I responded. He seemed elegant. Both of them did.

"Hmm since you are his roommate will you join us for tonight's party?"  Kathryn recited leaning a little bit towards Daniel. Nothing bothered him.  "Yes the freshman party right? I will be there" I relied with a smile. The university organised a welcoming party for freshmen. "No that is boring. There's one at Daniel's house everyone's invited. Come on you will have fun'' Kathryn invited. Well, if it's at his house shouldn't he be the one inviting. But nervemind. "No actually I have few errands to run over the weeekend'' I tried denying properly. "Well that's pathetic" a voice echoed from the other side of the room.

I turned my head over the side. Angela was leaning against the door. She was looking at me as if I was her prey. "Are uuu his roommate?" She asked me while coming inside the room. Do I look like his bodyguard? Why is everyone's king ne the same thing? It's bothering.  "Yes" I replied smilingly. Not all thoughts deemed were to be spoken out. Angela nodded and went towards Daniels bed.

I thought she would take a seat on the bed but what she did made me widen my eyes. She literally went and sat on Daniels lap. He seemed ok with it. He even moved a little to make her comfortably sit. "You can make new friend. Join us" Angela uttered again while chewing her gum. "Don't. She has errands. Don't force her" Daniel spoke. He didn't look at me or anything. I don't do parties. I thought to myself. They didn't bother me much and left.

Angela appeared to glance at me repeatedly.

Well, let's keep our distance.
