Princess Calypso awoke to the soft sound of birds chirping in the morning air and the golden light of the sun washing over her skin. She shifted lightly in the grass of the castle gardens and the arm around her waist tightened. She could hear the humm of a familiar man and a small smile spread on her pink lips. "Good morning, princess." Kix's gruff morning voice filled her ears and a blush spread on her cheeks. Kix's thumb began to rub circles into her waist and she looked up at him. Kix grinned softly down at her before leaning down to kiss her once more. Her lips were so soft and he just seemed to melt against them. It was if nothing else existed in that moment, not the war, not the 501st, and not the princesses. They were just two lovers completely alone and enjoying each other's company. But as blissful as the moment between them was it had to end at some time and it ended by Kix's com link beginning to blink. Kix groaned as he pulled away from Calypso who watched him with a frown. "Kix? Where are you?" The voice of captain Rex came through the comm link clear as day. "I'm in the gardens. Where are you?" Kix asked as he started to get up, offering his hand to the princess to help her up as well. "I'm with the rest of the men and the General in the court yard. Have you seen Fives?" Rex asked. "No sir I haven't." Kix replied as he began to put his armor back on. "Well just get here as soon as you can. General Skywalker wants to brief us again after the attack last night." "Yes sir." Kix replied before ending the transmission. He sighed softly before he looked to Calypso. "I suppose you better return to your sisters before they notice you're missing as well." Kix said softly. Calypso nodded, even though she did not want to leave her clone. "Will I see you again?" She signed quickly before she left him. Kix pondered the thought for a moment. "I don't know." He replied honestly. "But I certainly hope so."

"Calypso!" Caroline scolded the youngest princess as she entered the shared room between all twelve of the princesses, most of which were already awake. "Where have you been? Do you have any idea how worried I've been!" Caroline continued. "I didn't know if you were dead or hurt!" She continued. "Calypso, you're a mess." Cosette suddenly pointed out. "And coming from me, that's saying something." She added. "Is that grass in your hair?" Caroline asked, her tone much calmer now as gentle fingers began picking at the sprigs of grass and leaves in her hair. "Where exactly were you last night?" Caroline continued to question her. "In the gardens." Calypso signed. "Were you with anyone, perhaps?" Charlotte asked and Calypso didn't hesitate to respond. "Yes. Only K-I-X." She replied and Charlotte grinned. "I knew it! You were with that medic again!" "Charlotte, please." Caroline tried to hush her sister before turning back to Calypso. "You understand you're an engaged woman now, correct? You cannot keep sneaking around with a clone no matter how much you like him." Caroline told her littlest sister. "But Caroline-" "no exceptions, Calypso." Caroline cut off her little sister while she was in the middle of signing. "Caroline my future husband is terrible!" "You're not the only one." Cosette muttered, remembering how dull her betrothed was. "I'm sorry Calypso but rules are rules and I cannot change them." Caroline said. Their conversation was interrupted when another princess came into the room. "Courtney?" Caroline questioned with wide eyes at the disheveled princess. "And where were you last night?"

"I was in the library." Courtney said as he strode across the room to her side of it. Caroline's eyes narrowed at her sister, a skeptical gaze looked at her. "With whom?" She asked as her careful eyes caught sight of a mark exposed on the princess's neck. The Mark that could only be left by another's mouth. "Fives." Courtney said flatly. "One of the clones." She added. "Is he the one who did this?" Caroline asked with a harsh tone of voice as she walked over and pointed a finger at the mark left on her pale skin. "Yes." Courtney said flatly once more. It was almost as if breaking the rules didn't bother her, which wasn't like her at all. "Did you-" Caroline began, afraid of the answer she might receive, "did you sleep with him?" "Yes." Courtney replied again with the same dry tone. Several gasps could be heard from their sisters as they listened in on the conversation. "Courtney... you're engaged! How could you break the rules like this? It's not like you." Caroline continued and Courtney scoffed. "Please, with my fiancé I'd rather break all the rules then be stuck with him the rest of my life." Caroline's eyes narrowed at her sister again. Hearing her admit to a desire to  break all the rules made her both curious and concerned about her adventures of the previous night. "Courtney," she said her sisters name carefully and in a much quieter tone. "Did you have sex with him?" "Yes." The sisters all gasped again and Caroline put her head in her hands. "I don't see what the big deal is?" Courtney countered. "Have you completely lost your mind, Courtney?" Caroline nearly screatched. "What if you get pregnant? What if your fiancé finds out? Are you trying to start a war between Atla and his kingdom? I mean, honestly, I thought you of all people would have enough sense in you to refrain from such acts." Courtney scoffed. "Just because I read all the time doesnt mean I'm not allowed to have a little fun." She countered with her arms crossed over her chest. "Your majesty," the girls all turned to see a servant who had entered the room. "She's here."

"She's here?" Caydence asked as she sat up and looked over at Caroline. "Who's here?" Caroline sighed as she sat at the edge of her bed. A combination of emotions washed over her and her sisters grew even more curious. "Last night in the chaos of the droid attack, our father was killed." She explained and once more the princesses gasped at the news. "What?" Courtney nearly shouted. "But how could that happen?" Catherine asked. "How did none of us know?" Charity added. Caroline seemed to be taking the loss the hardest. "That still doesn't answer who's here." Carissa muttered. "Upon the death of our father, the king, I am to be crowned queen within the next day." Caroline replied. "I have called for our aunt, Duchess Evelyn Gardiner, to assist with me taking on such a responsibility until I have things under control." There was a silence in the room now. Most of the girls too stunned to speak. "I'm sorry, Caroline." Courtney finally replied. "While I was being inconsiderably foolish our father was dying. And all I have continued to do was be utterly horrible about it. I'm sorry." "I'm sorry too." Calypso signed as she stood up and walked over to her sisters. "I didn't know." She added and Caroline offered a soft smile in return. "It's alright." She replied. "How could you have known?"
