"You startled me, captain." Caroline breathed as she looked out upon her kingdom which burned with the fire of attacks. "My apologies, your highness." Rex said as he stepped forward, out of the shadows. Queen Caroline of Atla turned to him. "The Republic has fallen." He told her. Caroline didn't looked phased. She looked back to her burning city. "I am aware." She added. "They are coming to kill me and my sisters." She added briskly, like she were simply making conversation. "When the Republic fell and the Empire rose we refused to join, or I refused to join them more or less. The Republic couldn't keep us safe so why should the Empire be any different? Atla has always been stronge enough on it's own and the empire stenched of evil and betrayal from the start." She told him. "So now, there is a man who calls himself Darth Vader prowling my streats and leading hordes of men to kill me." She added, watching the fires burn in the presence below. "He has already killed Calypso." "What?" Rex nearly snapped. "He used it as a threat to me. Saying he had arranged the death of my little sister and that gave him the courage he needed to pursue the rest of us." "where are your sisters?" Rex asked. "Cosette has led those who remain, along with as many citizens she could round up, to safety. Senator Organa offered to help and to bring the remaining survivors to his planet where they could start new lives as nobodies." "And you?" Rex looked at the Queen who managed a somber smile at the clone captain. "A good captain goes down with his ship." She said simply. "And a good queen will die for her kingdom." "You're just going to let him kill you?" Rex said, alarm filling his face. "I will not let him, captain, you should know me better than that, my dear." She said sternly. "I will not go out without a fight, a fight for my people and my sisters." Carolina continued. "For Calypso." "Rex." The queen and the captain turned. "We have to go, Vader will be here soon and we can't win that fight, not now." "Ahoska," Rex addressed the togruta who looked to Caroline. "You must be the beautiful queen Rex keeps talking about." Ahsoka greeted her with a kind smile. "It's an honor to make your presence." She said. "And Rex was right, you truly are beautiful." She added and Caroline smiled. "Thank you." She turned to Rex. "Your friend is right." She spoke. "You must go. This fight is mine." "But Caroline-" "go."

"Your majesty." Caroline looked up from her throne. "How long has it been since I last saw you." "Darth Vader." Caroline hissed as she stood. "The battle for your home can end now. You can live and so can your people. Surrender now and my forces will leave you." "Atla will never join the Empire. We were wrong to join the Republic in the first place. This planet will remain, as it always should have, alone." Vader exhaled. "So be it." His red lightsaber ignited and filled the throne room with a ghostly red glow. "I had not intended to kill two royals of Atla but if this is the way then so be it." Caroline pulled a sword from her sheath tied to her waist. The same sword she had used so long ago the night her father died. She gripped it's golden hilt firmly in her hands. "For Calypso." She breathed before taking on Darth Vader himself all on her own.

Atla had fallen. Caroline was dead. She had fought hard against Vader but of course her sword was no match for the blade of a lightsaber. Cosette looked down at the corpse of her sister. A lightsaber wound ripped through her elegant gold gown. The princess kneeled beside her sister. "Long live the queen." She breathed as she gently pressed Caroline's eyelids to a close. She stood before turning to the clone behind her and his togruta companion. "She died fighting for what she loved." Rex said. "Her and Calypso." Cossette nodded slowly, biting back the tears that stung at her eyes. "This resistance you spoke of," She began, "They fight the Empire? They fight Vader?" Ahsoka nodded. "Take me to them." Cosette said. "I want to meet them. I want to fight Vader. I want to fight the man who killed my sisters and destroyed my home."
