"You asked to see me, your highness?" Courtney said as she entered the king's study. There was a smugness to her, she knew exactly what this was about but would she say it? No. King Finnian sat at his desk, his head in his hands. "Courtney is left to the grace of the wind as far as I'm concerned." The king said as soon as he heard her voice. He looked up from his desk. "You wrote this." He said flatly, pointing to a copy of the infamous letter bearing the king's seal. "My king, why would you think I would do such a thing?" She asked. "When do you ever address me as 'my king'?" Finnian hissed with such sudden volume that it startled Courtney. "Do you realize what you have done?" He snapped. "The subjects don't even trust their king. I have been humiliated by own wife and the kingdom will not let me forget it." He said bitterly. "Well what did you expect me to do?!" Courtney finally snapped, at her witts end. "You embarrass me day in and day out with the way you treat me, the comments you make about me, the constant sleeping with other women. I mean honestly, Finnian, look at yourself. You are a pig by the very definition of the word. You disrespect me every day, you disrespect your people with your carelessness, and expect me to sit by and just watch? I am too clever for that and you know it." She said, her face red with anger. "What do you want me to do about it?" He finally asked and courtney scoffed. "You have ruined me." Finnian continued. "There has to be something you want for you to have spent such a price." "I want my freedom." She finally said flatly. "I want to leave this place and never come back. I want a divorce from you and I want you to confirm the truth to your subjects so they can know the filthy man I always knew you to be." Finnian glared at her. His eyes were burning with rage but now there was nothing he could do about it. As well as the kingdom knew, anything with the king's seal was his word. For him or anyone else to try to deny these claims in his letter would be denying his own word. Courtney knew this of course. "Fine." He finally agreed. "If you want to leave that's fine but that's final." "Good." Courtney snapped. "I will be gone by the morrow."
"Rex," Caroline said softly as she greeted the man at her door to her quarters. It was late at night but she was always happy to see him and he was always happy to see her. "Hello my queen." He said with a grin as he removed his helmet and stepped inside. As fate would have it, this would be the last time that they were to see each other. Rex gave the woman, the queen a proper greeting and bowed his head to her respectfully. "Rex," Caroline said softly with a smile, "You know you don't have to bow to me." She added. Rex didn't say anything he just grinned softly as he stood back up and looked down at her. "I can't believe you're leaving tomorrow." He said. Caroline looked away from him for a moment. Her eyes filled with sadness. She tried to dismiss the emotion before turning to look back at the clone captain. "Do you think I will ever see you again?" She asked. "I don't know." Rex replied. "But there's always a possibility." He said. "What happens when the war is over?" Caroline suddenly asked and Rex looked to her with now sharp and curious eyes. "What are you getting at my queen?" He asked. "When the war is over, and say the republic has won, what then?" She asked. "What happens to you?" She clarified her question. Rex thought about the question. He didn't have an answer, sure it was something he had wondered about many times but never had he asked anyone for an answer. Not even General Skywalker knew of this curiosity that Rex had. "I don't know." Rex replied. "Well," Caroline replied, taking his hands in hers which were much smaller then his hands. "Perhaps, if the fates are in our favor," She added and a small smile tugged at her lips. "You could come find me and we could have what we both seem to want from each other." She said softly as a pink color flourished on her cheeks. "I'd like that." Rex replied to her as he moved one of his hands from where it held hers to caressing her cheek as he leaned down and placed a soft kiss on her lips. Caroline closed her eyes, purely lost in the moment, before Rex pulled away. But he wasn't away for long before Caroline pulled him back down to her to kiss him again, this time much more fiercely.
"R-I-N-G-O V-I-N-D-A?" Calypso signed with a puzzling expression as she carefully formed each letter with her fingers. Kix nodded. "You have to leave?" Calypso asked. "Again?" She added and worry filled her blue eyes. Kix sighed. "I won't be gone long." He assured her. "How can you know that?" Calypso asked and Kix sighed. "I don't." He said softly. "But I do know that nothing can keep me away from you for long." He added sweetly. Calypso couldn't help but smile softly at her clone medic who seemed to cherish her so dearly unlike anyone else ever had. "And when I get back, the war will be even closer to being over." He told her. "And as soon as it is, we can have everything we have ever wanted." He told her. "Everything?" Calypso asked, her tiny fingers signed the word so perfectly and Kix chuckled with a grin. "Yes, Calypso." He said happily. "Everything." He said, signing the word when he spoke back to her. This only caused Calypso to grin even wider at him. She loved it dearly when he signed with her. It made her feel more validated and seen then ever. "Hey Calypso," He added before showing her his hand with his pinky and pointer finger raised, his thumb over his folded middle and ring fingers. Calypso knew this sign well and she immediately replicated it back to him. "I love you."
