NARRATOR'S POV:
Snow was falling thickly upon the castle and its grounds now. The pale
blue Beauxbatons carriage looked like a large, chilly, frosted pumpkin next
to the iced gingerbread house that was Hagrid's cabin, while the Durmstrang ship's portholes were glazed with ice, the rigging white with frost. The house-elves down in the kitchen were outdoing themselves with a series of rich, warming stews and savory puddings. Everyone was enjoying their lunch and only Fleur Delacour seemed to be able to find anything to complain about.
"It is too 'eavy, all zis 'Ogwarts food. I will not fit into my dress robes!", everyone heard her saying grumpily.
"Oooh there's a tragedy," Hermione snapped as Fleur went out into the
entrance hall."She really thinks a lot of herself, that one, doesn't she?" Anna said, shaking her head.
"Hermione who are you going to the ball with?", said Ron. He kept springing this question on her, hoping to startle her into a response by asking it when she least expected it.
However, Hermione merely frowned and said, "I'm not telling you, you'll just make fun of me", Anna, Diana and Ginny knew who she was going with but they didn't tell Ron either.
George and Anna with their other friends were eating lunch and enjoying chatting, when a boy from Durmstrang came and stood behind Anna and George and called Anna's attention.
"Excuse me, can ve talk?", the boy said.
Anna turned and looked at him for a second then turned to George who was giving the boy cold and appraising sort of look.
"Um.. sure", she said, hesitantly. She knew what was coming.
George straightened up beside her, and draped his arm around her waist in a proprietorial way.
The boy was tall but not as tall as George, he was wearing his Durmstrang uniform and a very flirtatious smile. Everyone had their eyes on the him.
"You are very beautiful. Wood you like to go to the ball vith me", the boy said and held out his hand. Anna was filled with just one fear at that moment, fear of George punching or hexing the boy which she definitely didn't want.
Her gaze drifted to George and she saw him standing up towering over the boy. His expressions had changed to angry and infuriated.
"Have you lost your marbles. Don't you see, she's my girlfriend, you stupid prat", George said angrily.
"Georgie, please calm down", Anna said softly, standing up beside him.
"I'm really sorry but he's my boyfriend and I'm obviously going with him", Anna said politely.
"I'm sorry. I didn't know. I thought you vere single", the boy said, a bit nervous, seeing how furious George was.
"How is that you don't know about us when the whole school does?", George was hopping mad.
"My apologies. I really had no idea", he said.
"It's okay", Anna said before George could say anything else.
The boys smiled at her and left the Great Hall.
Anna turned towards George and saw how red he was."Georgie", Anna tried to calm him down but she couldn't say anything.
"How dare he come and ask you that", George yelled.
"He said he didn't know", Anna said.
"And you believe him", George said.
