Returning from a longer than usual hunting trip, Taylor and Daryl are met with an unfamiliar man back at the quarry camp. Rick Grimes is his name, and he's tied to the people of the quarry camp more than the young teen and hotheaded redneck think. Tensions are high between Daryl and the rest of the group as Glenn, Morales, Jacqui, Andrea, and T-Dog have returned from their supply run without Merle. Rick offers to take Daryl back into the city to find Merle along with Glenn and T-Dog, and Taylor insists on going. Will they be able to find Merle and return to camp unscathed by the dead?

TAYLOR

LETTING AN ANNOYED SIGH escape past her parted lips, Taylor stepped over a fallen branch, looking around the tranquil, quiet forest.

"Where did that damn squirrel go..." She groaned, readjusting her grip on her crossbow.

While out scavenging at a local trailer park the other day, she and Daryl had found it in one of the trailers, and since she had been doing quite well with all that he had taught her on their hunting trips, she could claim the crossbow as her very own.

A small scurrying sound broke the silence around her, and her head snapped in the direction of the noise.

The squirrel she had been hunting for was on the forest floor, nibbling away at an acorn.

"..." She aimed her crossbow at the squirrel, aligning the sight with it's head as she pulled the trigger, the bolt flying through the air before piercing the squirrel in the body, pinning its lifeless body to the forest floor.

"Gotcha." She grinned, jogging up to the squirrel as she pulled out the bolt, putting it in the holster for her bolts underneath her crossbow, holding the squirrel in her right hand as she gazed up at the crystal clear sky.

"Let's see...sun rises in the East and sets in the West...camp's that way." She began heading in the general direction of the camp, as Daryl wanted to head back from their hunting trip that day.

She had rushed off when she had laid eyes on the squirrel, saying she'd meet back up with him at camp.

Over the past few days, he had begun to expand her horizon on a collection of things on hunting and self—defense for her benefit of survival, and they were definitely proving to be useful.
