-That same Friday-

Jimin and HyoJin had finished eating their food in the park earlier and HyoJin smiled to herself as she admired the way Jimin's face lit up each time he earned a point in one of the arcade games they were playing. He glanced sideways at her and she quickly looked away blushing, embarrassed she'd been caught staring.

-Monday morning-

HyoJin rushed over to Taehyung, Jimin by her side.

"Tae! You're back at school that's great!" HyoJin exclaimed, catching even herself by surprise with the outburst.

Jimin smiled but he felt weird about what she'd just said, even though Taehyung was her friend too.

Taehyung just smiled in response. "Mm. Sorry I haven't spoken to you much this weekend, I've had a lot on my mind and stuff." After saying this to her, he slapped Jimin's hand and raised his eyebrows as in 'what's up.' "And you too man." He said to Jimin.

Taehyung had a green cast that went below his knee to his foot and he had crutches.

"I would've come visit you this weekend but you said it would be fine not to so-" HyoJin began.

"Nah, it's fine. My family insisted on staying with me a lot and I know they'd just make a big deal about you coming.." Taehyung trailed off, "especially my parents and little sister."

"Oh yeah, but it would've been nice to see them too. I don't mind - they're nice." HyoJin smiled to Taehyung. That statement made him happy - she likes my parents? That's one step forward, right? He thought.

"I said do you like her?" Jimin repeated, getting increasingly frustrated.

"She's a good friend I guess.. why?" I lied to him.

"That's all? You sure?" Jimin asked, his eyes desperate.

Should I just be honest?

"Honestly that's all." I replied.

He let out a relieved sigh as his lips fell into a grin. "That's a relief. Because I was going to ask her to be my girlfriend after school.." he trailed off shyly, "I just hope she accepts me.. I haven't felt this way about a girl since.. well, you know.."

Wait, what?! No way. I can't let this happen! I can't let him have her. Aish do I really want to screw up this friendship over a girl? Even though I really like her..?

"Really? I hope she accepts you. I'm sure she will." I put on my best fake happy face and tried to look excited for him. I have to be the better man, right? Even though my heart is suddenly aching..

The last class of the day finally ended at 3.15pm and since I had no after school activities, I went straight to the bus stop after bidding Shi-Ah bye. She seemed to be busy with her other friends quite often lately. She said she needed to introduce them to me some time soon. I went to meet Jimin as usual at the bus stop and when I saw him coming, I waved. He waved back and arrived at my side - looking like something was up. I brushed it off and began making usual conversation.

"How was your last class? What'd you have?" I asked him.

He glanced at me for a second, his eyes widening slightly as if I had just snapped him out of his thoughts. "Oh uh I had P.E.. Football today.. It was good." He kept looking around and talking quietly, his attention never fully on me.
