Ten months have passed since Braden and Amara were ranked to Wulffram and paired. They both did well in their classes and passed every test that was given to them. A force to be reckoned with within the school. Only two months left until graduation it was exam time. Each class had two exams that have to be passed in order to graduate. Before all that the school held a week of rest for all students. A way of winding down after such an eventful time. During this week the school had food prepared all throughout the day. Whelps and Pawns were able to walk freely and communicate with their families. Each night music played in the hallways and common rooms.
~Amara called and spoke with her family on Wednesday night and confirmed that her parents, grandparents, and great grandparents would attend her graduation. Excited to revisit their old school more than her graduation. Thursday came and Amara made her way to Braden's room to wake him up. Each day of their week of rest she found herself coming to his room to wake him. She waved to Bronx and Akina as she went to Braden's door. She knocked softly and heard a loud grunt from inside. She pushed the door open and found him laid out in bed still.
"Morning sleepy head."
She called closing the door behind her. Gazing down at his bare back she said.
"Time to wake up. I can see you are not a morning person."
"Rodan has forced me."
He mumbled. Amara sat at the end of his bed and shook his leg.
"I see that. Each day I've had to wake you."
He turned to his side and looked down at her.
"No one is making you."
She smiled at him.
"True. What else am I supposed to do without my pair? Go to the mess-hall myself? How sad does that sound?"
He rolled to his back rubbing his face. Amara watched him look over at the clock then back up to the ceiling.
"At least it's after eight."
"I gave you a little reprieve."
Braden pushed himself up to sit and stared at her. She just smiled back at him and said.
"You're welcome."
He chuckled and scratched his bare chest.
"Thank you. What did you have planned for us today?"
"You are going to send a letter to your grandparents."
Amara stated fact, meeting his eyes. Braden gave a heavy sigh laying back into his pillow.
"I believe this is one of those times that I will argue with you."
"I am open to a sparring match against you any day big guy."
Amara said smiling at him. He raised his head and gave her an odd look. She just smiled and leaned back on her hands in his bed.
"Anyways, yes you are writing a letter and you are going to tell them how great you've been doing and how you have an amazing pair who is whipping your butt into shape."
She watched him smile and lay his head back into his pillow.
"I have mentioned you before."
"Well I'm sure they'll be happy to know that you don't think of me as an poster child anymore."
Amara laughed. She laid across the end of his bed and stretched.
"So you'll write to them?"
He was silent for a moment then let out a big sigh. Defeated.
