Six months have passed since Braden and Amara were paired together. Their professors sang for them to the Head Master. Building and pushing each other came effortlessly to them. After their first spar together nothing was the same. Even within normal classes they built off each other without even having to plan in great detail. Amazing even the Head Master. Kodiak was proud of his choices playing out so well.
Braden very slowly started to let Amara in. She was very different from any other female he had ever met before. Not at all like what he thought she would be like. He had expected many more questions about his family but she never brought it up. Never mentioned it in passing, nothing. Like she knew it bothered him. Grateful but surprised at the least.
Amara began to understand what Kodiak meant by Braden teaching her. She relaxed more now, took time for herself and to get back to her Lycan roots. Her skills already unmatched without getting a big head she eased back on herself. Pushing for so long makes the mind and body weak. Working with Braden helped her in many ways. She fully trusted him and had no doubt within her of his skills. He finally started talking more with her. Actually starting conversations sometimes. She learned much more about him now. What he was like before Rodan. Where he had come from. He didn't mention his family ever so she decided not to bring it up. Also easing on her own boasting of family, she thought it best.
It was December now and a heavy blanket of snow had covered the school grounds. All students remained in their pelts as to shield from the harsh cold. Some wore scarfs or hats but others just dealt with only their fur.~The weekend was ending and Amara stood in the hallway with Braden right before bed. She smiled up at him and said.
"Don't be late tomorrow."
"I have not been late since that one day."
He retorted turning to her.
"Are you ever going to let me forget it?"
"Never."
She spat back staring up at him. She watched a small smile tug at the corners of his mouth as he looked away.
"I won't be late."
"Good."
She shrugged her bag on her shoulder and sighed.
"I'm off. Sleep well big guy."
"Sleep well Amara."

+Braden returned to his dorm's common area and found James and Bronx sitting together at the one table. As he closed the door behind him Bronx perked up.
"Hey Bray. Wanna play cards?"
Braden nodded and came over to them. James smiled up at him.
"Out late with the pair? What do you two do all day?"
"Same as other pairs."
Braden answered taking cards from Bronx. He settled in a seat and looked at James.
"Class, study, eat."
"We have freedom time as Wulffram. How come you don't come by anymore and play cards?"
"Busy I guess. I've been studying up on my medical books."
Bronx laughed and nudged Braden.
"You did always suck at mixing things. How's things with Amara?"
"She's well."
Bronx growled playfully and grinned at him.
"Think you can sneak me in her dorm room after hours? I'd like to lay with Akina all night long. That female sparks my flame."
