A.N.:// Short chapter.... hehehehe

The chaos made itself known in the form of an explosion on the south side of the castle.
Gaius had just about finished his questioning regarding Sir Leon, when the knight jumped to his feet and grabbed for the sword that he kept by his side at all times.

Without as much as a "I have to investigate that", which was merely implied in a nod and a wave, Leon already stormed out of the room.
Not giving Gaius the chance to warn him of using magic.

Even if the old physician was right about his theory, Leon didn't really care. He had dedicated his immortal life to the protection of Camelot and it's castle.
If it would be the last thing he did, he would die happy.

The explosion, as it turns out, had been laid within the royal kitchens, where the confused cook was experimenting with different oils over an open flame.
There were other, clearly flammable objects being thrown into the open fire and now the entire room was on fire.

Leon paled at the sight, before he grabbed the woman by the neck and dragged her out of the room.

Panicking servants had run inside to put out the flames with water. Leon couldn't do anything but curse.
"Don't use water! That won't help!", he shouted and finally threw all the servants out of the room as well. No need to risk their lives as well.
Thankfully the cook had experimented inside a pot, so he only had to slowly cover the burning thing with a pan.
Slowly, he slid it over the opening of the pod, until the burning stopped. The heat however, had gotten a strong hold on the pan as well and Leon hissed in a breath, as he felt his hands melt under the touch.

The rest of the burning on the working table, he managed to stomp out. It definitely ruined his boots, but those could be repaired.

When it was finally over, Leon was breathing hard, because being high up during a fire inside a house was bound to expose his innocent lungs to toxic smoke.

Leon jumped off the table and opened a window to let the smoke out. He coughed in fresh air. He had been just in time before the fire spread to the neighboring rooms.

He sighed in relief, before he walked out of the kitchens to give instructions to the remaining servants.
The cook was wobbling on her feet. She didn't look like she was present at all.
Leon gritted his teeth. This could mean only one thing. She was once again, enchanted.
This was surely not a coincidence. They knew he would know it was them.

It was a trap.

Leon turned to face one of the servants whose name he remembered. "Lydia. Get Miriam to Gaius. She's clearly not thinking straight."

The servant in question blinked in surprise to be addressed. Thankfully, she was the type of servant who would never question any of her orders. So she bowed to Sir Leon and then lead the confused cook out of the hallway.

Leon sighed. Mortal or not, he had to put an end to this, now.
Within seconds he had made his decision and started running. He knew the explosion had been a distraction. Not for Leon but for everyone else.
This meant that while everyone would be busy cleaning the kitchens, the wing of the castle that held the guest chambers would be abandoned by all the servants and guards that were need in the kitchens.
As a result, Leon and the enemy would be facing each other all alone. A grin spread over Leon's face. These idiots didn't know who they were messing with.
And they just gave him a wide opening.

He panted heavily, as he reached the guest chambers. His sword at his side, he stormed into Alastor's room. And as expected, George and.... Iseldir? Were pushed into one corner of the room. Their hands were chained to the walls and Alastor sat upon one of the chairs, biting into an apple without bothering about Leon's appearance at all.
No wonder. As soon as Leon had entered, the doors closed behind him with a shut and the knight was not surprised to see that Alastor had placed guards before them.
They all carried weapons.
Leon's eyes narrowed. He knew their strength now. His grip on his sword tightened. A one on one fight here would proof fatal. Especially since two lives needed to be saved.
