Someone was in the house. Percy was extremely unsure what to do. It was probably just her uncle and the boys making noise when they came back from whatever, but Percy's gut was telling her something completely different.

Something was very very wrong. And she really needed to check out who had been making noise down there. Something crashed again and that finally convinced Percy to go and see. She crept quietly through the long corridors of the house.

Once again inwardly cursing the size of the house and doubting that she would ever get used to the size of this place.

She crept on, cautiously peering over the bannister towards the kitchen. Someone was there and that someone was covered in blood. Percy could not make out who the person was, but she was very sure that the person was well on the way to bleeding out.

The person moved a step and staggered badly. Bloody hands gripped the edge of the kitchen counter and the person slowly slid down to the floor. The hands slid off the counter and pressed down on a spot on the person's stomach where Percy assumed the wound was.

And that was when Percy's brain started moving again and she remembered that she was supposed to help the dying person. She started to move and took the last few steps down the stairs almost silently, her eyes searching the corridor for other people as she continued her way to the person.

When she had a clearer view of whoever was lying on the floor, she stopped in confusion. The person wore a mask on his face and also a strange suit.

The person's eyes were closed and when Percy knelt down, the person made no attempt to move. Percy carefully pulled the mask off the person's face, her confusion as to who it was made her almost forget that the person was half dead.

She pulled on the mask and to her complete surprise, the pale face of Dick emerged from underneath.

As Percy got over her shock, her eyes moved to Dick's wound. It was a gruesome sight even for a demigod. There was a hole in Dick's stomach. It could have been a sword wound if it wasn't so round.

Percy pulled Dick's hands off his stomach and took her jacket to stop the bleeding with something clean. Carefully she put Dick's hands back on the wound hoping it would help a little before getting up and searching the cupboards for something to dress or disinfect the wound.

To her surprise, she found what she was looking for on one of the first shelves. A small box full of bandages, disinfectants and, to Percy's surprise and happiness, a needle and thread for stitching up wounds.

She was not a child of Apollo in any aspect, not even healing. She had known for a long time that she failed at archery and poetry was not her strong point either, but she had always thought she could at least stitch wounds until she had to treat a mortal without ambrosia or nectar.

In the end, it had worked, she had treated the wound to the best of her knowledge and pulled Dick onto the coach. She briefly considered leaving him on the floor because the couch probably cost more than Percy would ever earn, but had quickly dismissed the idea.

She was just trying to clean up the blood that covered the floor in a thick red puddle when Dick woke up. His breathing changed almost imperceptibly and he was obviously trying to hide the fact that he was awake, but Percy had been waiting and listening very intently for him to wake up.
