She did her best to enter the kitchen very quietly because she didn't really want attention. This plan was not really well thought out because, in the end, she would sit down at the table with the others, but who cares.
She stepped into the room and noticed how it became quiet, she raised her head in the hope that everyone was suddenly just very engrossed in their food. But was met with disappointment as five pairs of eyes stared at her.
She couldn't really have been that loud, after all, she was sneaking. She was a demigoddess, she should be able to sneak. However, this situation could explain why monsters tracked her down so easily. She couldn't sneak, she was loud and as clumsy as an elephant. Oh no.
She really didn't want to do that and just at that moment, she didn't have the nerve to. Because normally she liked to imagine herself as something really graceful like a polar bear.
(I googled for graceful animals and Google said polar bear and because they are so extremely adorable, I chose polar bear).
Well, an elephant is pretty cool too, so she could accept that but only if she really had to. She would have to put her sneaking skills to the test later.
Percy bit her tongue and made her way to a vacant chair where she sat down and started playing with the hem of her sweater. It made her totally uncomfortable and she wasn't going to look at the others.
She was a little confused as to why the others seemed to expect her to owe them an explanation. After all, she was not part of a group of vigilantes. They were a bunch of hypocrites that was probably what they had most in common with the other part of her family.
After a very long and boring and annoyingly silent five minutes, she decided to go against her silent vow and looked up and luckily she saw that no one was staring at her anymore, except Damian, and he didn't count, because he had been suspicious of her even before the incident and she really didn't expect that to change just because she knew one of his probably most important secrets now. That would have been too convenient.
Alfred placed a coffee cup in front of her and Percy gratefully accepted it. It was a little more comfortable when she wasn't just sitting in silence anymore, but at least had a cup to distract herself.
Besides, she was tired, so coffee was good anyway. Oh well, even if she wasn't tired, coffee was the best thing there was, after any blue food. Blue coffee, that would be a good idea, the important question was how to make it.
Coffee itself was usually a darker color, so if you didn't dilute the coffee very much with milk, it wouldn't turn blue. You could probably put blue whipped cream on the coffee, but then you could also eat blue whipped cream directly.
It would probably work with very strong food coloring, even though that would probably take away from the actual taste of the coffee.
Percy stared critically into her coffee cup, too deep in thought about blue coffee to notice the confused looks she was getting.
Almost everyone sitting around the table was very confused as to why Percy was staring at her coffee as if it could be a cure for all ailments and worries when properly prepared.
Bruce cleared his throat, directing their attention away from their sadly non-blue coffee to him.
"So you have questions?" She hadn't expected him to ask her questions. She had expected him to barrage her with questions, not offer to ask them. When she thought about it, he had actually been the one to ask the first question. And that meant that she had actually been quite right in her thoughts about what would happen.
"Not really, at least I can't think of any right now. Well, not important ones." Even if she really knew, it would probably be better if she didn't ask Bruce, but maybe DIck or Tim about the costumes.
"Fine." Not asking questions definitely stressed Percy out more than it should have. It stressed her out more than the thought of him pestering her with questions, and she was pretty sure that wasn't how it was supposed to be.
