It won't be up immediately after this is finished because I wanted to work on one of the stories I had on here before, but took it down. This Is A Hold Up. I'll love you forever if you read it even though I love you all forever for getting me to so many reads. I like never thought I'd get to 1,000 and you guys multiplied that by 60 so I love you al. Chapter 24

We arrived at the school about the regular time. I got out of the car after Alex, since I was squished in the middle between him and Matt. I ran my hand through my hair, not sure how the day would go since Mai was back. I had to face it eventually though.

Matt, Alex, and I walked into the school. I felt more comforted with them by my side, but I knew that wouldn't last for long because out lockers were all in different places. I sighed when they parted and walked up to my locker. Unfourtunately Mai was standing by hers.

                "Ariana," She spat.

I looked at her for a moment before turning the dial on my locker to correct combination and opening it. I ignored the comment, I didn't need this right now. Things had been alright. I had Matt and ALex as my best friends, even Austin and Noah stood up for me if someone said something to me.

Sure Macy had still been spreading rumors around the school, but I couldn't let what she said affect who I was. I knew who I was, and the events at the beach house had just confused me a little bit on that. Now I was back, though. I didn't even wear my contacts anymore. My glasses made me, me. And Matt and Alex accepted that.

Mai slammed her locker, grabbing my attention from my own locker. I jumped a little and looked at her.

"My mom and dad won't quit arguing. He won't even look her in the face," She told me angrily. I stared at her for a moment.

"Talk!" She almost yelled at me, pushing my shoulder a bit.

I looked at her, pursing my lips, for another moment.  I opened my mouth to say something before Alex intruded.

"Hey, Mai," Alex said angrily from behind me. I turned around and shook my head, holding my index finger up, telling him to give me a moment. I turned back to Mai.

"I just want to point out, that my family is ruined too. Your mom is in as much fault as my dad, and if you can't accept that, then get over it. I haven't done anything to your family, my dad, maybe. So stop taking it out on me. My mom's already packing her bags," I told her firmly

. I didn't know how I'd gotten through that with sounding as confident as I did, but I wasn't complaining.

Mai stood in shock for a moment. "Your dad probably seduced her-" I cut her off, shaking my head.

"Mai, if you can't tell, I'm not my dad. I don't know what he did, I don't know what your mom did. But I can tell you, I didn't automatically call you a whore when I found. I didn't think lowly of you. I was still your friend. And you completely turned on me. I don't need that Mai," I said quietly.

I turned around to find basically the entire school was listening to our conversation. I sighed, pushing through all of the people. Now everyone knew my business once again. Thanks Mai.

I walked into my homeroom, which I had with Mai and Alex. I sat down in the back right corner, burrying my face into my arms that laid on the desk.

"Ana," I heard Alex murmured. I looked up, giving him a small smile.

                   "Hey," I said.

Alex frowned. "You did a really good job, standing up for your self," He told me, sitting in the desk in front of me. I shrugged.

"Maybe, but either way the entire school heard everything," I sighed. I fixed my glasses, running my hand through my hair.

Alex shrugged. "And do you honestly think everyone hates you?" He said with an assuring smile. I shrugged.

"They don't," He told me just as Mai walked in. I glanced at her as she went and sat by Macy. Alex shook my arm. "Mai is the only thing stopping you from being old Ariana again. The one that was nice to everyone, even though she was bullied," He told me.

I gave a small smile and nodded. Maybe that was what I needed. To let everything with Mai go.
