Chapter 27

"Ariana!" Someone called into my room. I groaned and rolled over, looking at my doorway. The figure in the doorway was blurry, until I reached over and grabbed my glasses from my nightstand. There stood Austin, smiling a bit at me.

          "What?" I murmured, still half-asleep.

"Dad needs to talk to us, about Mai and Chris," He told me. He knew it was hard for me to get past all of this, I could tell it by the way he talked to me about it. I nodded and stood up.

I got dressed in a pair of red skinny jeans and a green and black plaid shirt. It didn't match, but it was still cute. I slipped on some white converse and grabbed my bag, grabbing my HIPSTA PLEASE sweatshirt as well. I walked out of my room and down the stairs, walking to the kitchen. I grabbed an apple. It was nice to bite into something and not have to worry about my braces.

"Ariana," My dad cleared his throat. I looked at him and Aimee through the window in the kitchen and I walked out. I leaned against the wall in the living room as I ate the apple. I only then realized that Mai and Chris sat by them and Austin sat on the stairs.

"We need to talk to you all about the rooming arrangements," Aimee spoke up. I took a deep breath, all of edging them to go on.

"There are only four bedrooms in this house," My dad said, looking between Austin and I. I raised an eyebrow and nodded.

"You're going to have to share rooms. Mai with Ariana and Chris with Austin," Aimee told us. My jaw dropped and I shoke my head.

"Ariana," My dad said. I shook my head and turned around, walking to the door.

"Ariana!" My dad called, standing up and running after me.

"Chill, dad. I have a theatre thing," I lied, waving my hand for him to leave me alone. I saw him stop in my peripheral vision and sighed in relief.

The closes place to my house that I could go to was the cafe and that was where I went. I opened the door ten minutes later as I walked in. I had never been so happy to see Alex in my life than at that very moment. I sat with him at the table and he looked up.

"Ana!" He smiled, closing his notebook and putting his schoolbooks up. I smiled back, proudly showing my braceless teeth. I was only just now getting used to it since I had been focused on all of the drama lately.

"Morning," I said, setting my school bag on the floor. It was one week until Christmas break, which meant semester exams. I had my theatre exam today, but I had already turned mine in. It was just to write a small skit about the topic she gave us.

"How's home?" Alex asked after a moment of looking at me. I shrugged and looked down at my hands in my lap.

"Home's alright," I told him with a slight nod, still looking down.

"No it isn't," He told me softly. I took a deep breath, sighing right after.

"It's good thing I like to write the screenplays because acting must not be my thing," I said, looking up.
