Chapter 9

The rest of the weekend went like that, bascially. We just joked around and everything. And then. Monday came. Noah didnt ride with us this morning, which I was mostly thankful for. And Austin had to drive all three of us to school. Austin was so happy he didnt have to wear the uniforms anymore. In fact, thats all he ever talked about when I heard him talk. Here he goes again with it.

"Arent you guys excited? No uniforms for the first time EVER in Frierson High School history!" he basically yelled, turning around to see the three of us in the back seat.

"Yay." Mai said in a bored tone.

"Woo." Alex said sarcastically. Their responses made me laugh.

"Austin, we arent as...happy about school as someone who is living the dream is. Plus, the only reason your happy is because it'll be oh so much easier to play the girls." I told him, honestly. He scoffed, but couldnt come up with anything else to say.
Austin parked and Alex, Mai, and I got out of the car quickly. I wore a hoodie over my outfit and had my hood on my head so no one could see me without my glasses and braces.

"Relax, Ana. You look perfect!" Alex said in a soft tone. I looked up a little to see Mai nod with him in agreement. I just rolled my eyes at them. I walked to my locker, which was assigned to us last week, and opened it slowly.

"Take off your hoddie and stuff it in your locker before I do it for you." Mai growled. My eyes widened at her in fear. But then we just burst out laughing. That was how Mai was. A total joker in the harshest of times or when it feels that way anyways. Mai always had a way to make you feel better, no matter what.

I nodded and took my hoodie off, stuffing it into my already messy locker. I slammed the locker closed and started walking to our homeroom. I didnt really notice I was getting stares from everyone, even though they only noticed I didnt have my glasses. Wait until they see me with no braces.

Three hours passed and it was lunch time. We got our lunches quickly, and this time there was a table open inside.

"Hey Ariana!" I heard Noah call from behind me. I stopped in my tracks and held my lunch tray close to me.

"Dont you think we should sit there? We dont make people sick by just looking at them after all. Mai and Alex can gladly join us." he growled in a mocking tone. I rubbed my tongue against my bottom teeth and turned around.

"Dont you think you should walk away before you get a lunch dumped all over your head?" I asked in the same mocking tone as his. He froze on the spot, surprised. I walked towards him, stopping right in front of him.

"You know, Noah. I dont have any idea why you're such a jerk. But I know...Im DONE with it. Im done with you. Im done with everything." I said to him, passing by him and bumping him on the shoulder harshly. He stuttered but said nothing else. I heard Alex and Mai follow me outside. Well, the jerk got his table.

"Ariana! That was AWESOME!" Mai exclaimed giving me a high five. Alex smiled a bright smile at me.

"Thanks, it felt awesome!" I exclaimed, giving Mai another high-five. We ate our lunch, occasionally laughing at something that was going on. And then I looked in the lunch room. I saw Noah just looking at his food and stabbing it with his fork. And then he looked up at me, which made me quickly look away.
