Louis POV

:-:-:-:

My hand absently rubs up and down Jo's arm as she releases her soft snores into her pillow while I focus on the TV. She'd reshift every so often, sometimes kicking me in the shins in her half-asleep movements but still end up closer to me in some way. So I just stayed in place as she finally got the sleep she needed.

She'd been staying up later than usual lately because the baby made it their life goal to sleep while she was awake, and be fully awake, kicking nonstop, when she was trying to sleep. She was finally getting her hours in and anyone who interrupted that would be a dead man, so I didn't dare move.

My lids were beginning to droop and I was merely moments from falling asleep with her, when my body jumped awake at the sound of the TV being turned on downstairs at a piercing volume. Immediately it was turned down. Though not before Jo began to shift uncontrollably in her spot and next thing I know, she spoke in clenched teeth,

"I am going to hurt him."

"I got it babe, go back to sleep," I pushed myself to sit up.

"Sleep. I just want sleep." She cried into her pillow.

"Jo, just go back to sleep," I repeated to her carefully, even though she was only half-awake. I caught sight of the clock and cursed. Great.

I grabbed my shirt off the end of the bed and slipped it back on, then began searching for my shoes.

"I'm so tired. I just want a little bit of sleep," she choked out, making me sigh and climb back into the bed.

"Baby, you've been asleep for six hours already."

"Why are you lying to me?" She whispered. "We just got home, that's not even possible."

I chuckled and kissed her forehead, "Go back to sleep. I love you."

She released a shaky breath and clutched her pillow tighter to her body as she relaxed again, "I love you."

I carefully pull the bedroom door closed behind me. The wood beneath the carpet creaks as I descend down the stairwell. I do a double-take into the living room when I see Carter's feet up on the coffee table. He notices me, and his eyes widen slightly as he swiftly pushes them down while looking behind me expectantly.

I walk into the kitchen, "She's still in bed, lucky for you."

I hear him put his feet back up while exhaling of relief, "Good. I was afraid it woke her. I didn't know it'd be so loud."

After grabbing a water bottle out of the fridge, I walk back into the living room. I push his feet back down and looked to the TV to see Netflix on.

"Did you finish your homework?"

"No."

"Why not?"

"I was gonna do it later."

"When later?"

"Umm.."

"12 oclock later is not good enough. This is why you have a C in english. Get on it, get it out if the way and then TV," I press the power button on the remote and set it down on the coffee table. He let out an exaggerated puff.

"But I just turned it on."

I ignored his comment, "I'm going to go pick up Angel and Bri, so I'll be back in a bit. Your mom should sleep for a few more hours, but if she wakes, don't get on her nerves. She's already agitated so don't -"
