Josilyn POV
:-:-:-:
It was later when I woke to slight writhing on my chest, did I find my daughter awake. She begin to lightly whine and I placed my hand on her back, gently patting. She stilled after a few seconds and slowly went back to sleep.
I have no idea how much time passed when I found myself squinting my eyes open at the feeling of Louis touching my shoulder and whispering my name.
I hum.
"I'm sorry to wake you, but Carter isn't being as easy," he mumbles as Carter cries into his shoulder, toes curling up underneath him, "I think he's hungry."
"What? Oh, yeah, right," I rub my eyes, "Here take her and I'll take him," I say.
He carefully sets Carter into my grasp and I hold him as Lou grabs her from underneath. He plops back onto his spot on the couch, but then seconds later he's back onto his feet, too eager to stay sitting. Slowly, he turns in a circle, his eyes locked on her small face with a soft smile meeting his lips.
I go to tug my sleeve but pause, taking a double take at the couch, "When did she come in here?"
"Huh?" he glances at the couch with Brianna's curled up body, "Oh... I have no idea actually," he admits.
"What do you mean you don't know?"
"When I woke up, she was on the couch with me. Her head was against my stomach and she was just lying down, practically on me, fast asleep," he stops for a moment, "I didn't even feel her."
I blink at him, "How could you not feel her? She's not exactly light anymore."
"Well pardon me for being too deep in my exhausted slumber with my son."
When he turns back around towards me, he's met with the sight of me struggling to pull my sleeve down. A smile cracks onto his face, "did you need help?"
I wave him off and guide my arm out of the sleeve, pulling the gown down some. Carter wriggles in my arms and I tug down the garment just enough for him. I feel him relax in my arms as his eyes slowly blink open. He stares up at me as I feed him. I boop his nose with my finger.
"Jo?"
I look up.
"What are we naming her?" He asks, blinking at me in confusion.
I bite my lip, "I.. I.."
"Do you still not like Adeline?" He asks.
I shake my head and he nods, "Alright. Well I had another one in.."
"I was thinking about Angel," I admit. I watch his face carefully for his reaction.
"Angel," he repeats.
I nod, "Angel Grace," I smile.
"How do you feel about Samantha?" He asks. My smile falls.
"You're not going to acknowledge my suggestion?" I question.
"I was going to. I just wanted to know how you felt about Samantha first," he says, "Do you like it?"
"I want to name her Angel," I deadpan.
He presses his lips into a line.
"But Samantha, how do you feel about that name?" He repeats with an edge of irritation.
