Louis POV
*1 month later*

"I want to take the kids out," I say.
"Out? Out where?" She sets her book down in her lap.
"I don't know, how about bowling? Do you think they would be up for it?" I sit up.
"Angel just started a new book and Carter is writing I think. It's worth a try though. You're leaving me here?" She asks.
I kissed her head, "Go out with your friends." And headed straight upstairs.
I decided to dive in head first and knocked on Brianna's door first.
"Come in," she mumbled barely audibly.
I twisted the knob and stepped in. She was in the middle of staring blankly at her TV in the dark. With her head rested in the palm of her hand, her eyes slowly shifted to me.
I walked to the corner of her room and turned on a lamp. She immediately scowled at me.
"You know what he said Bri.. Stop putting yourself in darkness like this. It only–"
"Fuels my negative moods, yeah, I know," she let out a frustrated breath, "What do you need, dad?"
"I'm taking you guys bowling. Get ready," I say, picking up a stray shirt and pair of socks from the ground and putting it in her hamper.
"Do I have to go?"
I sigh, "I'd like you to."
"But I don't have to?"
"No, but if you don't come, you have to go with your mother on whatever she decides to do. I'm not leaving you alone to stay in your dark room all day."
"Fair enough," she mumbles and swings her feet over the edge of her bed.
I want to push her on coming, but I decide against it and leave out. I knock on Carter's door and then open it, peeking in.
He stops typing and looks up from his laptop at me.
"How's the story coming? Looks like you made it through your writer's block." I don't bother asking to read it, because I know he won't let me read until he's finished the chapter.
"Yeah, about two hours ago. I'm almost done with the chapter, but I don't know if I fully like it so I may end up rewriting it."
I shake my head, "How many pages?"
"Only 6 this time. It's more of a filler."
"Feel like taking a break and going bowling?"
He bites his lip in thought, "Is Brianna going?"
"Doubt it."
"Then I'm in," he hits save on his laptop and then shuts it.
"Me too," Angel appears at my side, fully dressed and ready to go.
"Your mom said you started a new book. What happened?"
"Boring as bricks. What a let down," she walks past me and down the stairs. "So many grammatical errors it made my head hurt," she shook her head. I hooked my arm around her neck and pulled her in.
"Dare I ask.. What kind?"
"Excessive commas, run-ons, missing parenthesis—"
"Oh god not the missing parenthesis," I gasp and she smiles.
