I huffed and moved to adjust myself into a different position, hoping to help.

It didn't. I found myself shuffling mindlessly until I finally gave up on it and groaned loudly, kicking my feet against the mattress of the bed angrily. It didn't take long for angry tears to start streaming down my face.

There was movement from the other side of the bed. Louis's head lifted off the pillow and because of the dim nightlight in the corner, I watched as he begin to rub his eyes. His eyes casted towards the clock on the wall. He sighed as it read 4:26 AM in it's sky blue numbers.

Slowly he turned to look in my direction. He laid back down and opened his arms, "Come here," he tiredly instructs. I sniffed and begin to wiggle my way into his arms.

"They won't sit still," my voice cracks and he shushes me.

"I know, I know." He whispers and kisses my forehead, wiping away my tears. "Don't cry."

Right as my back touched his bare back, he lifted my shirt and begin to gently rub my stomach. I felt my body relax as after a few moments, they began to calm down. One gave one last kick near his hand and then that was it. I think they fell asleep.

Even as I felt myself drifting off, his hand continued in it's soft circular motions. I'm pretty sure the only time he stopped is when he himself fell asleep, making sure I was relaxed completely before stopping.

My eyes slowly peeled open when I was awoken by a certain someone jumping on the bed, and and making my body bounce against the mattress. I cringed them back closed when the sun shined right into my face.

Footsteps came into the room.

"Brianna, what did I tell you-" Louis begin to scold her, but his words stopped when I reached out for her leg and wrapped my hand around her ankle. I pulled and she fell back onto the bed, giggling loudly.

"Mummy!" She exclaims.

She scurried to her knees and I felt the bed move as she crawled over to me. She leaned over me curiosly. "Mummy?" I kept my eyes remained shut, as if I were asleep.

She taps my face. "Mum-"

"Boo!"

She jumps and screams loudly. It's not long after and she's laughing about. I chuckle and slowly sit up, shielding my eyes from the bright sun. Louis sets down the clothes he was folding and walks to the curtains, pulling them closed.

"Sorry, I had them closed but she yanked them open again while I was out of the room." He apologizes.

"It's fine." I tell him.

"And I told her not to jump on the bed, but I left for a second to go put some towels up and she was hopping away." He huffs and frustratedly folds a shirt.
